What USB port connects to your car radio?

USB ports are used to charge a bunch of things nowadays. But they are also used to transfer information. They are all over modern cars but not all connect to the radio. I show you several vehicles and how to tell which ones connect to the radio.

That’s different from my jeep gladiator. I have under the radio, in the consul, and the backseat. All three will connect to the radio. Someone sitting in the backseat can pull up Google maps to where they want to go and it will display on my screen. I’m assuming the new Capstone will be the same as what you’re describing for Toyotas.

Hey Steve. Mine is touch and go and I haven’t figured it out yet. (2014 Highlander XLE). As I charge my iPhone and want to listen to KZbin vids, I don’t get audio whether on the iPod or Bluetooth option. Sometimes I’ll go back and forth between those two options and it works but I don’t know why, not my doing. Thanks

You have to set the source to usb on the radio

I'd like a list of devices that work in the Radio USB Port.......would love a way to have a wired connection going to a CD player>>> Don't wanna use bluetooth for music but a wired connection. Can You hook up a digital audio player to that USB port. Can you use thumb drives with flac files> MP3 is crap..... Why couldn't they just have a 3.5 analog Aux input...

YOu can hook up a flash drive to it. I have not tried other file formats than MP3 in it. I have seen AUX to usb adapters you could likely use. I have attached a CD player to the usb. Hook up the data connection to the USB then hook the power up the the C style charge only port for the added power.

Not really without changing the radio. If you have an aux there may be an adapter but it wont have the full function of the usb

I have a question, so I just got a 2023 Highlander XSE. I plugged my iPod into the plug for the radio, but it does not play. I used the iPod in my 2015 Camry XLE Hybrid, and it played. Do you have any thoughts as to why it may not be playing? My phone that is connected through Bluetooth is not an iPhone. It's an android.
