I weigh my canopies down with jugs of gallon water with a silicone tie to the poles when camping. That water can later be used for washing hands or feet when not needed anymore!

I have been watching van videos for about three years now, but it was immediately (the day after) discovering your channel that I grabbed my pry bar and screwdriver and removed all the seats in my Toyota Sienna van, and even went out and bought some really fun clothes that express this new chapter. I bought a ford transit connect about a year ago. I haven't converted it to the level you have. I only mounted a cabinet on the wall, the rest of the things in the van can be removed very easily. I am taking my first trip this summer and seeing how everything works. If I really enjoy the experience, then I am going to do some major upgrades.....like adding an RV plug to allow me to use RV camping spots. A sink and other amenities is something that I will consider as well. I am a recent subscriber and like your videos!

Congratulations on your success and achievements. I think your upbeat personality and positive attitude have much to do with it and I am sure as more and more van lifers watch your channel your success will continue. I recently traded my beloved Jeep Compass for a van as the SUV was getting "smaller" as I added gear and gadgets. The cargo van I bought was a blank slate allowing me to fix it up my way. It definitely has a "mobile man cave" look using gear and kits I've accumulated over the past 60+ years as a worldwide (retired veteran) backpacker. I want to add some nicer touches to the van so I've been researching YT channels for ideas. I am not a van lifer per se but I'm inspired to travel extensively in my retirement and I want the van to be an extension of my home. You've provided some super ideas in your videos and already they have had an impact on my van interior. Thank you!

I wondered about a Transit as a travel van from the first time I ever saw one - many thanks to you (and the others) who have gone forward with them and developed the idea! 👍 I look forward to a video addressing the issues of standing, exercising & stretching "in real time" by someone who actually lives the life because one of my biggest concerns had been how not being able to stand/stretch out would be. I eagerly await the next episode - onwarrrrd! 👌
@LadyBugout3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, I was always eyeing the transit connects too. I would say that I am happy with my choice. Definitely consider what your own personal needs are. I find that it is roomy enough despite not being able to stand upright. It is also tall enough that I don’t feel like I have to be crawling around on the floor all the time. I thought it would annoy me not to stand, but so far I’ve been happy to have the maneuverability and gas mileage and front wheel drive as the trade off 😎

ive watched several of your videos so decided it was time to subscribe, I know this is an older vdo, you were showing the weights on your awning which is a great idea. As for sand bags I prefer to use 2liter bottles filled with water or you can make a couple tubes from 2.5" pvc, glue caps on the bottoms and drill 2 holes at the other end for a bolt or rod, you can fill with water or sand and hang from the bolt. If you want to store other small stuff you can just push another cap on... string lights, short 'tiki stakes etc

I guess I'm thinking about promotional marketing strategies for fun and viewer expansion. MAKE YOUR VAN A LADYBUG... a few small black circles and a few curved/straight lines on the face/hood would tie your van together with your ladybug moniker! One subtle line and a youtube logo on the bottom of your back door would excite your g-kids to (as they get older)! Have fun with it. I've been a rv'er and vanlifer for 27 yrs, so I can see would set you apart even more. You're very creative, I know you can "see" the advantages to this! Right now, it's a small red van. Aloha

Aha! Now I know why you travel on the midwest side. I am in Indiana and noticed a lot of your videos were somewhat close. 😊 If you ever want to check out Indiana a bit, there are a few horse camps you can stay at free. One near me actually. I live in Bloomington which I do love but it's a college town so expensive. But, such a great town. If you ever get close, let me know and we can camp out at the horse camp. I will be staying around here in my van starting in June and hope to be heading west November or December. One of the reasons I wanted to move here is the abundance of nature areas close by. The horse camp is 20 min away off my favorite road in the state 446. There are several rec areas off the road and it's a nice scenic curvy road that gives you a view of the lake on both sides at one point. Anyway, it's an option. I'm still researching free areas around here. There use to be a ton just down from the horse camp but they no longer exist. You have to walk to the free sites now which are on the trails. But the horse camp is one big grassy hilly area with bathrooms and surrounded by forest. Anyway, I've rattled enough but it really is a nice area if you've never been and close.

I just love your Transit, I'm just sad because I have back problems or I would sell my shorty bus (which I can easily stand in to do anything including shower😊) and buy one! There is even a red one in my area for sale 😕🐞😉🥰 ps, I think you need some little black spot decals😁🐞🐞

Nice! Yes...I am hoping to get some spots as soon as weather gets warm. My son-in-law, who did my little ladybug logo, is going to paint lady bugout’s spots🥰

Your videos are amazing. Id to know how is for you to sleep without roof fan vent, if you sleep with all windows close or leave the window open a bit or another way. Tks :)

Thank you so much Rachel! I use two usb rechargeable fans. And crack a window in the front. One fan brings in that air the other circulates of around.

I live on the coast and get bad storms this time of year. I was wondering if you would recommend a jackery for some one that's in an apartment for when the power goes out....just for lights and phone.
@LadyBugout3 жыл бұрын
The Jackery would be perfect for something like that!
