This was very hard for me to watch. None of us can possibly imagine what Jesus was thinking while he hung on that cross, except to say that he had to have had conflicting emotions with the excruciating pain that he had to endure and the deep love that he had for mankind. As a matter of fact I have read a book I checked our of my church's library, in which the way He was nailed to the cross was discussed. His hands were NEVER nailed to it, because the huge nails would have easily torn right through His them! They hammered the nails through His WRISTS so they wouldn't be able to pull through His flesh. That seems, then, to me at least, the correct thing was done. Where did someone get the idea they drove the nails through ANYONE'S hands? The fact that gravity was pulling down on the bodies constantly made it imperative that the unfortunate folks who died of crucifixion had their wrists nailed into the wooden cross beams! I rejected this at first, but thought about it, and decided this made much more sense! It was certainly make it much more difficult for the nails to rip through the flesh!

Jesus was miraculously conceived with no father and also performed great miracles by the will and permission of God. I’m not that religious but it’s great to learn the history on how things actually happened during the times of Jesus. It would rather know what happened when it actually happened than to blindly believe in something just because people obligate themselves to believe in it. Knowing the history can teach us the reasons why the Catholic Church does certain things in their masses.
