I love your videos. They are insightful without being needlessly sensational. Keep it up! I'd love it if you could do one talking about the reasons Jesus rode a donkey into the eastern gate of Jerusalem.
@messagesofChrist5 жыл бұрын
Glad you have enjoyed the videos! I do have a video coming up about Palm Sunday which will go into a little bit of detail on the donkey. It won't be till next year when I talk about the Golden Gate. I'm working on a 3D model of Jerusalem at the time of Jesus and it is taking longer than I hoped, so that video will have to be for next year.

I always believe that at this time Jesus was scared. This was possible as he was not just God but human too. I believe he was scared to go to the cross. Who wouldn’t be afraid knowing he/she would die a gruesome death? He prayed that god take the cup away from him but not by his will but God’s will be done. He gained the courage to face his own death at this time.

For years I worked in an intensive care unit caring for patients on life support. Some of those patients were on life support for weeks and weeks and day by day their organs would begin to fail; as their organs failed the blood, which is designed to stay in the blood vessels would begin to ooze out of the vessels, making its way out through the skin. When we would turn the patient, the bed would be soaked with blood, but it was not red, it was serous fluid, and looked no different than if olive oil had been poured out on the bed.
@messagesofChrist4 жыл бұрын
That is fascinating! I have not heard that before. Do you know if there is a name for this? Something I could look up to do more research on it?
@UVJ_Scott4 жыл бұрын
@@messagesofChrist it is typically called "third spacing" and is associated with organ failure and subsequent hypovolemic shock. www.nursingcenter.com/journalarticle?Article_ID=859815. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK513297/. Serous fluid is yellowish, essentially the same color as olive oil. There is another phenomenon called hematidrosis which may also be what the Savior experienced: www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/319110#what-causes-hematidrosis. Either phenomenon would potentially explain why when they arrested Christ he would not have been covered in frank or clotted red blood; his clothes would only have appeared to be wet.

One more thing, more than likely the wine Consumed at the time of Christ would have been white wine which is amber in color. Not that any of this adds any value, it is just interesting to consider.

His suffering began in Gethsemane but, the Atonement was done at the cross with the death of Jesus.
@messagesofChrist4 жыл бұрын
I believe his suffering began in Gethsemane and ended on the cross, meaning instead of limiting it to one event I believe it included Gethsemane. But no question, a major part and honestly the most significant part is on the cross. That I fully agree with.
@Savedsister Жыл бұрын
I think sometimes we forget a very important part of Gethsemane in which Jesus also suffered the anxiety of being separated from the Father. He had always been one with Him. Isaiah 53

Marvelous video, as are all of your videos. You mention Thursday night. Are you quite sure it wasn't Wednesday night?
@messagesofChrist7 жыл бұрын
Glad you have enjoyed the videos! There for sure is debate as to if it was Thursday or Wednesday night. I have chosen to go with the traditional night for most Christians of Thursday, not what scholars debate as a possibility. I actually don't have a problem with Wednesday night, but to explain the logic would really require a full video. With trying to limit videos to 5-7 minutes, I can only go through so much. Perhaps next year for Holy Week I can discuss it. Hope that helps!

It is odd that the mythic Jesus says to his mythic father "not my will but thine". How could the son of God who was created by his father to save the world by his crucifixion and resurrection have any choice in his destiny? Perhaps it could also be said that his father could not change his mind, his decision to kill his son on the cross was also inevitable. Choice is for the insecure, not an absolute God who remembers, knows, and foresees everything.
