I think that Venus and Serena were very lucky to have the parent they did. So many tennis stars have terrible parents, stealing money from them, abusing them, frauding them. Look at Martin deal Potro, Arantxa Sanchez, Bernard Tomic, Jennifer Capriati, etc. it’s great to hear they have a great relationship with them and that they have fun with them. So kudos to Senior Williams! Also, she’s so candid about her thoughts on having children. It’s refreshing to hear how open she is with her audience.

Thank you Venus for your wisdom, grace and authenticity. You will always be inspiring to us because it is a core value of yours. Congrats on your Wimbledon win this year. It was a joyous occasion to see you play so well even after not playing for over a year as well as being called out as one of the most decorated female champions. You were right next to Novak and Roger and it was amazing to see you shining. keep on shining queen Venus and God bless your beautiful family!

I loved hearing about your childhood. I, unfortunately had an abusive childhood but decided to not be like my parents. I was strict with my children and they didn’t like it. 🤨 I sacrificed to get all three of them through college and drove my daughters to many dance practices and competitions. Today they are hardworking adults who have thanked me for setting boundaries. Love your videos and look forward to seeing you on or off the court again!

You and Serena have always been my inspiration growing up. You both have served not just an icons but as a role model to all who are keeping to KEEP GOING on whatever life throws in. You have touched so many hearts with all the battles you've been through in your respective careers most especially in your personal lives and I am just so proud and GRATEFUL to have lived in your era where inspirations and aspirations have been instilled up until to this newest generation. Your tennis careers could be possibly nearing to the final stretch but the REMARKABLE and BEAUTIFUL SOULS you both showed the world, will LIVE FOREVER. Truly an Honor to your Mom, Oracene and to your Father, Richard. And yes I couldn't agree more to what you've said that you are the greatest gift that you give to your parents coz I believe all the parents is also praying of having you as a daughter. More power to you, Venus and Cheers to Single-Blessedness!! Fan here from the Philippines. ❤️🙌

Thanks! Over the years, as my mom is in her 90s, she has an urge to help us to improve via her unsolicited critics (through the focal optics of how she was raised and grew up) upon my own children and me. It's a struggle for me to spend time, ask questions, and both be patient and not defensive. It's a balancing act that I have yet to find a solution. I like what you suggested about being proactive and asking for their thoughts and feedback, except I'm just afraid of opening a can of worms where a parent can be proactive in insisting on their ways.

Motels were some of the best parts of those family road trips especially when they had HBO. You could open up your door and be right at your car. Now since I am older and only stay at hotels or resorts, you have to walk down these mile long hallways just to get to an elevator. So many childhood memories staying at the HoJo and other motels.

I know what you mean Venus, we were seen and not heard in our family. Old school for sure. We would pay my younger sister too until she wanted a raise. My Grandmother raised us as my Mom died when I was six. Home made ice cream all of the time, great desserts. There was no such thing as peer pressure either. No playing outside after dark. This is a great video Venus. It makes me home sick. Lots of cousins meant lots of fun and church was our entertainment and we loved it.

Wonderful subject! Because I cherished my parents while they were living; therefore, now that they’re gone, I have little regrets, because I showed them respect, and I loved them dearly. I had disagreements with my mom, but I NEVER talked mean or nasty to her! And my Mom told me that I didn’t talk back when I was a teen, and I feel so good to know I never mistreated them. A couple of my siblings did act disrespectful sometimes, but I didn’t and I miss them so dearly and deeply. For those of you who still have your parents, please honor them and don’t be disrespectful, even if you think they didn’t get something right! Because you will regret it, if you treat them wrong! So Venus thanks for this wonderful subject!!!

Can you do a video on who besides Serena you had close friendships with on the tour back in the day to now? For example, what's your relationship with Martina Hingis now since you had a great rivalry during your prime?

How did i show love to your parents? i'm 40 and this is the first time that i asked myself that question, i think that you gave very very VERY good advices, makes me rethink the relationship with my father because my mother past away very young. Is very different to each person because i have a very bad relationship with my father and i don't think that it would change in the future, sometimes is better to stay away from the people that hurts me the most, and in this case he is one of them.
