What was life like 200 (500 or 1000) years ago?
As Mr. Harry paddles his canoe in the wilderness he encourages you to imagine what life was like before we had roads, buses and modern homes.
The video may be used for exploring Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum and expectations.
Suitable for Kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, Grade 6, as well as, Pre-school, Forest School and Homeschoolers. This video urges students to investigate what life was like in the past.
For teachers, parents and adults:
This video follows an inquiry model. It is designed to encourage young students to be curious, ask questions and investigate history as well as critical thinking. We ask questions and urge students (with your support) to find answers.
Your role is to encourage the curiosity by guiding young learner's questions (rather than just providing answers.)
Prompts you can ask / Extensions you can do:
"What was life like 200 (500 or 1000) years ago?"
