I’m a singer and have been singing as long as I can remember. When I was in high school, I was in an audition group that went around and sang Christmas carols in winter. When we were in church singing that year, I decided to sing the harmony parts. After the service, the woman in front of me turned around and said “I just have to say- listening to you sing tonight was such a gift!” I’ve been complimented many times before, but that one hit a little more. It made my day, and I still think about that every year.

One of the best compliments I ever got was I was driving to California (I’m a truck driver) and I stopped at the TA in Kingman, AZ and they have a Black Bear Diner there, so I went there to eat. My hair must’ve been kinda sticking out and a bit unkempt and the waitress who was serving me said my hair looked like Wolverine. I LOVE Hugh Jackman and his role as Wolverine, so this was definitely a compliment for me. I gave her a 30% tip for that compliment, and wrote “thanks for the compliment, Bub” on the receipt…

Went to a Rocky Horror Live stage production dressed in full drag as a bride. This was after coming out as queer to a few people. A lady friend of mine went with me as my “date” as support and was the one who recommended I go to see it even though I was a bit nervous about being in public like that. Had so much positive reactions from random people. A couple of people asked for photos with me, and it was nice to be called a lady by the staff for that night. As a friend of mine once said, if there is ever an acceptable (nay mandatory) time for a guy to dress up in drag, it’s when you go to watch Rocky Horror. Best night I’ve had in years.

Whenever I had to visit my middle schooler sister's classroom kids would stop and stare,point fingers at me and would rush out to see me and one of them ran out to me and put a compass on my hand insisted I take it when I asked a bunch of kids to ask my sister to give me a compass.Then I asked my sister WTF was that and she said her classmates think I'm super pretty,some even tell her you look like that one miss universe.And that boy who gave you compass doesn't even talk to her,and her girl friends always stop by my class when they're on my floor... Me it was in ice hockey pick up. We were playing but had no goalies so when this happens we have a plastic board with holes in it shaped with the goalie figure blocking it. I was chasing the puck along the boards with an opponent player and I got ot it first before him and I stopped 180. I looked around and then looked at the net. There is no one except the plastic board in my way. I had that RDR2 moment of Dead eye and thinking for 3 seconds about shooting from where I was near the boards. I went for it. It went top corner clean thru and GOAL! Everyone cheered even the opponent bench team. "That was amazing!!" Later in that game I made a Hattrick and players threw their gloves in the air for me. What a great celebration!
