Maybe make a good topic later, I wonder : 1. On 4th crusade, did the army got paid? since the leader cant even afford their payment to Venice (4 marks for horse, 2 marks for men) 2. Varangian guards who fled the city on the eve of the fall of Constantinople, how much that their paid regularly? 3. What kind of ship did Venice used to be able to scale the wall of Constantinople with only its mast? 4. How much it cost (ship? How much if they sold it? 5. How much revenue of Flanders/Hainut, Champagne, Montferrat, etc to muster such armies? I just stump on the rabbit hole of middle ages, and this question is pooping while reading those records. lol thx anyways
