The shopping you brought back from England made me laugh. I live in France and I bring back random things too, lots of chocolate, marmite and friends bring me over those huge bags of tea which I then hand out to friends who always think that I really generous but really I have something like 3000 bags of tea. Even I can't drink that much tea! I eat my chocolate locked in the bathroom, there are some things that you don't share even with your children.

How nice of you to dedicate this video to Ms. Maria Rosaria (I guess she's the lady speaking to Carlo at 11:05). Life is so precious and tomorrow isn't promised to anyone. I am so glad that Carlo speaks to everyone he encounters... we never know how lonely some seniors can be. ❤️

Brought back memories how my Mum always had a large jar of pickled red cabbage when I visited home in London and I would bring back to California. 81 year old now and still yearn for a good jar of red cabbage or mustard pickle, nothing like it in California .

Loved this one! I have been watching for six months now and I love your life. Beautiful home with a tremendous garden, all the fabulous pets, a handsome, and handy husband, a beautiful home in a safe woodsy area and in a place I have wanted to live for about 25 years. It’s my dream life. Unfortunately, when I’ve had the money, I was married to a man who had no desire to even travel. Now that he’s gone, I have no money. Isn’t that the way is always goes. But following your life on video is the next best thing and makes me feel like I’m there, if only for a few minutes at a time. Thank you, Nicki. Linda C. U.S.

So many of the same things we always bring back from the UK (to Canada), club bars, penguins, teabags, bisto gravy, various pantry food items, toiletries from boots, underwear from M&S the list goes on !!! Luckily we are able to buy a lot of this stuff in the general supermarkets here nowadays in the British section. Ooh not forgetting marmite!!! Loving your channel, its so uplifting and I am really enjoying catching up and watching all the videos.

I don't understand it, bc to me English chocolate is usually full of awful additives and very very sweet, wheras in Italy as in France you get top of the line chocolate without all the junk or sugar added. I'm really surprized. I can't live without proper tea (i get the Yorkshire tea and Japanese Sencha, whole leaf Oolong and Lapsang Soushong for cold weather) but lentils take literally 15 minutes to cook (and Italy has fantastic ecological lentils I bring back home all the time) and chocolate. It's like Americans bringing coffee to Italy... 😳 After 20 summers in Capri and travelling around what I know right off the bat I'd bring is all my needs for cooking Thai and Vietnamese, and things like buckwheat, chick pea flower, seeds, kamut, amaranth, quinoa, couscous, some middle eastern and far east spices hard to get in quantity and lots of dried blueberries and cranberries, concentrated elderflower cordial and specific things like snap bag clips and rolld of icecube bags (the kind you fill with water and simply stack in the freezer and break in one go saving so much space compared to trays), I bring a roll every time I go, haven't found them in Napoli. I'd also bring natural liquid soap from pine, and ecologocal, biodegradable detergent as most chemtech in Italy I've found is either really toxic to the environment or terribly expensive. Maple syrup and pecans was absolutely genius though! I've never found horseradish for sale so I'd definately bring that too. I usually gift my Italian friends with big bags of porcini I've picked and dried myself free of cost here in Sweden. The prices are i n s a n e for them in Italy. Vacuum packed game like venison, deer, moose would be a good choice for the freezer for winter too. I always bring sweet and salty liquorice which some of my Italian friends like as well (it's a Scandinavian acquired taste, like Brits go for Marmite). I really understand the biscuits if you're English and not keen on baking. Proper English marmalade from seville oranges, rhubarb and goosberries (rhubarb is too hot to grow there I think) Chocolate confused me though I'm a chocolate lover, sorry. It's quite interesting what expats have cravings for! 😊

One thing I love about Italy are the many markets where it is possible to buy lentils, beans, etc. By weight and the seller wraps it in paper or fills the recycled bag the purchaser brings. And the conditorie where sweets and baked goods and chocolates are ready fresh with few of the chemical preservatives in packaged items to extend their life on a shelf. The plastic wrap litter is starting to choke beaches and beauty spots.

Yes, I know people miss food from their own country but I was surprised at many of the items brought back because they can be bought in Italy. For example, Italian chocolate with nuts, spray olive oil, lentils etc. Tea bags are difficult and if you have a sweet tooth for English biscuits or Terry’s or Quality Street, they are impossible to find. However, there are so many other delicious Italian ones to try. When you also consider all the Cadbury’s chocolate with palm oil and ALL the plastic wrapping, I’d prefer to buy local. IMO

Found your videos on youtube by chance and absolutely love watching them. The lifestyle and scenery remind me of my childhood in the Azores where I grew up. Anyway, stay well and thank you for sharing.

So glad we found you this past week. We're an American couple who just retired, currently in Leicester England for 6 months visiting friends, through May. We're waiting to head to our forever home in the Campania region of Italy (Guardia Sanframondi, Benevento) once the pandemic calms a bit. We've got our very special cat (Gino) with us, and will possibly drive from Leicester down to Italy, but may fly. I'm sure the border will be interesting with Brexit in play. So this episode sparked our interest!! I'd love to see what your drive was like and how you navigated it. Sounds like you've done it more than once, so probably have some "tips". I'll search for an episode of yours as soon as I finish this one!

I always bring back different oxo cubes, sage and onion stuffing mix, reggae reggae sauce, marmite, carob, Branston sandwich pickle, orange and mint clubs, ginger biscuits, chocolate orange, mince meat (for mince pies), various crisps eg thyme and chicken (my kids love) and several thousand Yorkshire breakfast tea bags (if I run out I use loose orange pekoe tea which is strong), also M&S underware.. .. And I also buy loads of first aid stuff and medicine because it is so expensive in Germany!

I love your constant JOY with sharing your chocolate haul! Ps- I know you’re a professional so this might not even be worth sharing- but I’ve come to realise the most safe yet efficient cleanser for my makeup brushes is what I use on my own hair- so simply shampoo and I do use a tiny bit of conditioner as well and it not only cleans them well- and safely - they smell good, and hey... it saves. Once I sorta got an understanding from exploring dermatology and ingredients- it occurred to me that my brush cleanser needed to be about what I’d use on my own head.

That bag of Typhoo :)) So glad to see another one of your videos. It was interesting to see the things you brought from England. We're going there next weekend so it was like going through a list of ideas. You never know how your videos help others. And you also have such a dream life and family, while you manage to keep things so real, I don't think there was ever a boring video on your channel. I would comment on every video but I feel like I would just repeat the same things :)

When I went to Italy, I packed pretty much similar: two suitcases full of food--sweets and hard to find products that would be expensive in the states. Also, a leather jacket.

You can never have too much chocolate. My favorite British candy from childhood is Allsorts. This was a joy to watch. As all of your vids are.

Looks like my haul when I visit the US! All the food you cannot get in India so I have at least a suitcase full! Also every time I watch your videos I’m amazed your car is parked not close to your house and no one steals stuff! If I were to do this all my car parts would be missing!

I loved the video! No matter where our lives take us, there are always favorites from our hometown! A nice advantage to driving your car instead of a plane flight!
