When i first saw what was happening on that big one i felt sick, it just looked like entire ocean was folding down ward and over on to me! Notice when i dive under reef was right in my face only a few feet deep but when i turn to swim up i was suddenly very deep as wave had no back at all just went from 2ft to 15ft deep! Crazy spot! Epic adventure! Thanks for watching part 2 coming!

Insanity!!! I feel like there must be something wrong with me because I was laughing at you when you went on camera and said "oh God that was scary". I just started laughing. I'm so glad nothing bad happened to you. Please, listen to the little voice inside you next time. None of us want to see you get destroyed. that wave looks like a destroyer!!!

Huge respect for the Florence brothers, you would never see Toledo doing anything they do . Such as adventurous mad surfing, fitness and love for the ocean.. and Toledo is the world champion of surfing for the last two years, what a joke. See his piss weak world champion performance at pipeline 2024, has anyone seen Toledo surf pipeline, chopes or the box at western Australia.????????

Nate, Long time watcher, first time commenter. This and the sequel are your best videos to date. I love that even after big bro JJF says its a no go, you still go for a "closer look." And not catching any waves- is there a better way to show respect for a new spot than to just appreciate it without trying to conquer it on your first paddle out? Such class. Ya, loved this this video and the sequel was even better. No commentary, no BS, just being there with you. Together they put you at the top of the vblog list. Sorry J OB, but the bar has been moved -there is a new sherrif in town.

The GoPro lens (or focal length?) still needs some improvement if it is to capture the actual appearance of the wave size from the surfer's point of view. The syndrome is especially noticeable here where that wave is about as big and terrifying as they get. This is accurately captured from the drone as well as from the boat point of view. I have seen something called a "Light Field Display" from a Swiss? Company called CREAL or maybe Metalenz - maybe that is what will be needed to fully capture the terror of a wave like that.

that was so psycho. wow. absolutely terrifying indeed. the fact that you even paddled into that zone was so intense. the way it would stand up and fold over onto the shallow reef was gut wrenching, as was the size and power. one of the most scary videos ive seen of yours. when you first paddled into the area and the water was so aqua and frothy, and you commented on its scariness, i could even see from the video that it was so dangerous, even before seeing the waves breaking, just by the shallow depth, and the water disturbance, after having been absolutely slammed onto the reef with such unfathomable force. sick. so happy you survived that wave investigation unscathed. also, john is such a smart and careful brother. happy for that as well. :)

yeah that's the problem with these mysto Pacific reefs that go on for ever ,, its seems your always chasing the peak but all that's really happening is your being lured to far up the reef and way out of position to actually make the wave ,, higher tied less wind and a bit more watching this place is a go for sure ,,, reminds me of the early daze exploring for waves in the Pacific ,, in the end it really just comes down to timing and staying healthy cant wait for the rest of the series

Imagine not knowing a spot like that, anything can happen. It looks like pristine barrels unlike you've ever seen, like a right cloudbreak. And before you know it the reef sucks completely dry and you have no escape. You see it all the time on smaller or otherwise unrideable slabs. Could happen on these freaks 2. Thanks for bringing the adventure!

12:50 been watching 30 times since you relase the footage, and still unable to process what i saw. I can't imagine for you, maybe even worst for John and Zord from the boat ☠️☠️🤦‍♂️ Was next level insanity ❤😅

OMG!! 😳 such a cool vid! I love the fact that big bro, JJF called it off. That speaks highly of his wisdom and understanding of the situation. As great of surfers as you guys are, I love what you guys did there. 🤙 In the words of William Shakespeare “Discretion is the better part of valor.”

great videos Nathan, and it's nice to hear "Oh my gosh", and not the constant blaspheming we normally hear these days!

That ledge looked like it takes on form over 12 foot, maybe tow ins What an amazing find to get a right hander! As soon as that wind is offshore, I bet some of the smaller ones would hold up too....

It is good for us mortals to see that there are times to really study a new spot versus just jumping in then regretting that decision. Awesome content as always
