Even in the thumbnail, lol. The images on the left side and center are helicopters, and the image on the right is literally an American Airlines jet. You can see the livery on the tail. I just don't know with these people.

You can't tell distance at night. They meet FAA requirements. These are airplanes. There are 1 million registered drones. Close to 2 million total. FAA says they must have a light that can be seen for 3 miles to fly at night. As of June 2023, there were 11,330 satellites orbiting Earth. Every day, some 93,000 flights take off from approximately 9,000 airports. At any given time, there are between 8,000 and 13,000 airplanes in the air. Funny how there were no drones on Thanksgiving. Silly. lol.

When there's legislation in the works and interests who stand to benefit from the introduction of drone detection/defense, you can probably guess who's promoting this non-specific fear (almost hysteria) around drones. I see no other valid reason why the governments at both state and national level would talk out of all sides of their mouths, in essence trying to keep the fear _just high enough_ to get some companies some nice contracts and score some new powers and authority. This happens every fear hype cycle (disease outbreaks, foreign terrorism, domestic terrorism, overseas conflicts, cybersecurity, and now weather balloons and drones). Are there real threats in this area? Of course. But the rational, best leaders don't use FUD tactics. It's the corrupt and incompetent ones who do.

I do agree with you about the drones or UAPs being a threat. When "you don't know" how you can tell they are safe?! However, Iranian ship theory is just non-sense. no ship can get too close to US territorial sea without us Navy knowing! And "why do they have to get close to deploy drones?" you may ask. the answer is they are drones and drones can't get too far without too much fuel before they crash!
