Poor transfer window, bought generational kids in Gray, Oderbert and Bergvall who aren't trusted to play games so why did we sign them?(Cheap wages + sell on value)Naive manager who has poor in-game management and talent ID, no matter how much you delude yourself Werner is a liability. And an ownership that care very little about competing on the pitch. That creates that spursy mentality..but when I say it...I'm just negative and not a real fan

As you can tell from my name who i Support, what helped us was, spurs dropped their heads when they went 2 down. They came out of the fire in the 2nd half and maybe it was a little late.. Ipswich looked more hungry for it. All the best
@darylsnell6799
@darylsnell6799 Ай бұрын
I am also a Town fan. I think their heads dropped because Postecoglu's tactics are too rigid. Ipswich had done their homework, and whereas other managers might be willing or able to mix it up and try another approach to break through, Postecoglu can't or won't do that.The players heads dropped because they had to keep trying the same thing that obviously wasn't working. Also explains how they can spank Villa but lose to Ipswich and Palace. Villa go toe-to-toe with them and then the team with better players or more fitness wins. Ipswich and Palace know they have to stifle Tottenham's play and hit them on the break.

You know Ben, the stadium could’ve had them beaten before they left the dressing room. I’m a season ticket holder and was there, the biggest failure was the 12th man. It was a library. When you go to Anfield the crowd is up BEFORE KICKOFF. The mentality each week starts in the terraces and we are not doing our part.

We had double the amount of possession, double the amount of passes, six times the amount of corners, for only half the outcome. Changes came too late in this match. Bissouma and Madders at 84 mins, not sure what Ange was thinking. Udogie, Sarr, Kulu, Johnson all should've come off at 60 mins.
@Charlie_E_

With Ange’s comments about Maddison’s non selection in the national team ‘ you don’t get picked after one free kick’ and the fact he came on only after 82 minutes, makes me think there is a problem between Ange and Maddison.

i think we need a world class central defensive midfielder. Bentacur and Biss are both good, but if we had someone elite in that position, commanding the team - i think we'd see less of these silly goals and we'd hopefully look a lot more calm when defending. At the moment we literally never look comfortable whilst defending. It's like as soon as we lose the ball it's panic stations. Whereas you look at Arsenal, City and Liverpool and they can calmly defend for days when they need to. But i think you're right, it's small tweaks. We're close.

We want to be the team that dominates small ants, hence the name “Big 6”, not to be dominated by the likes of Crystal Palace and Ipswich. Not to mention blowing a 2 - 0 lead against Brighton, we should have put those kinds of games to bed already ffs. We just making a fool of ourselves if there are 27 games left in the Premier League if this goes on and on.

It makes you wonder if the players actually watch the replay of the game to analyse their performance. If they do then for some players the obvious errors are screaming at you. I do not blame Dragu for the second goal, Sometimes the bounce goes against you. I do blame anyone who passes a cross to the opposition. They are meant to be elite footballers and should be 'encouraged' to pass to our players who are in the box. If they can't they should be sold.

We attack in 235 shape so on transition we are being overloaded on the flanks, 2nd goal shows space on the right flank. We are the only side attacking with this shape. This also means our defensive shape in the box is compromised. The lack of awareness of some attacking players to close down (Johnson on 1st goal) suggests they are not spending enough time on defensive shape. Ange has a philosophy, play out from back, press high, dominate ball. You can play many attacking and defensive shapes within that. He has to adapt tactics withing his philosophy otherwise there is a real risk we finish outside top 7 and he is sacked. He also needs to do more on attacking set pieces given the number of corners we get, more work and some patterns to break down low blocks including getting our wingers to attack full backs more often, watch the number of time we pass the ball back when wide in the final 3rd.

The team looks jaded, physically and mentally. We've gotten virtually no contribution at all this season from Richarlson, Spence, Odobert, Gray, Bergval and Lankshear, in the Premier League. With this system being so demanding physically, we can't afford to have that many passengers in the squad. Some of them need to get and stay fit, others need to be integrated by the Manager.

Ben, thoughts on playing Son behind Solanke and having them dove-tail, then having Kulu on the inside right(wing) and Johnson on the left? Feel like Solankes holdup will allow him to connect midfield and attack and you get sonny running towards goal more, kulu inverting to join in and johnson running in off the left gives him better angles to work with

Just a heads up but I really really wanted to watch the video. I want to know what went wrong from a tactical perspective rather than outlandsish lashouts on KZbin. I think we lost for two reasons. 1) The personality make-up of the squad. We dont seem to have any players that love to mix it up and get physical. (I think Hoijberg would have been great for yesterday's game) . 2) Ange got the starting line-up wrong. One way to beat a physical team is to just outskill them. Also, the subs. Was sure Madders would come on at half-time but alas. O well. Hopefully these are the problems because if it's something else say psychological and the players just wilt at the slightest sense of pressure, then we're screwed.
@Armoris6247
@Armoris6247 Ай бұрын
I agree that we miss someone like PEH in the middle; someone with a bit of grit & guts. Johnson is never going to put his looks at risk to stop the ball (bless his little cotton socks) and so him basically stepping back from challenging for that overhead kick didn't surprise me at all. We're almost there but we need a Henderson type player in the middle of the park who is prepared to BALL at these players and DEMAND more from them when they're looking weak. We need one or even two senior leaders who don't take any s#!t from the limp wristed members of our squad.

I’ve said he before and I’ll say it again. Unless we mix up our approach, we are too easy to play against. With zero variability teams can set out knowing exactly what we are going to do and don’t have to second guess anything. We never play long. Ever. Which when playing out from back like we do means that teams can push up and stay there as it’s never going long so we are constantly under pressure if and when we lose the ball. Even when we do get passed the any press when we lose it there we are SO easy to score against. I love that ange has a style of play but for the love of god please try different approaches if and when they are needed…. Please

I just said this on hippies channel. If they are pushing up against our mids and blocking the options pop the ball into their corners and team press them. Depending on who we are playing of course. The team doesn’t have that winning mentality anymore. They all just touching the ball just for fun, nothing else. No urgency (when there is, it’s usually too late). Also, no leader on that pitch, Son can’t be that long term solution as he is due to leaving anytime soon. We truly need that Roy Keane - esque level of a player, maybe Hugo Lloris level of responsibility wearing the captain armband. But at the end, this football club ain’t a football club anymore. I think most fans prefer being third at the end of the season, not now 😆 The story of the game for me was the final ball, we never put the final ball the whole game, did well up until then, the movement was there but the final pass was always off; in another day that doesn't happen and we win probably, and to me it showed Maddison should have started, Sarr is not the type of player against low blocks, we don't need to have a fixed 11 against everyone, strength in the squad means we can chop and change according to the game and in this game it should have been Maddison Anyways, COYS 🤍
