Traders being restricted to one biome kind of sucks because if you want a one biome world, for instance, you're guaranteed to only get the one trader over and over. Thematically, though, I understand the change. Speaking of which, I wonder if we're only going to get 5 traders in a RWG map now, much like Navezgane? The trader nerf absolutely needed to happen. I'm just surprised it took them this long to realize how broken they were haha. I hope the changes will be as impactful as they're advertising it to be and it isn't a case where the game plays almost the same as in A21, with a couple extra weeks tacked onto the end of an average length playthrough. We shall see! I wonder what they're going to do with trader completion bundles? Receiving a full set of top tier armor, or a full chemistry station, was a bit much. I sincerely hope they've tweaked these down, as well. :) I would personally nerf bundles by half (ex. 5 super foods in a food bundle versus 10, 1 SMG turret and 300 rounds in a turret bundle versus double that, etc.), but maybe that's just me. :) I'm going to be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of the gyro redesign? It looks too bulky for my taste. But all the other vehicles look stellar, especially the 4x4. The character outfits I was skeptical on at first but they've really grown on me and I'm excited to see how they play out in-game! New POI's are always welcome. :) RWG changes are nice. Back in A21, if you generated a world that was, say, 40% desert and 60% wasteland, you could get a 90% wasteland map. Or if you have 3 biomes instead of four, it might cut one out entirely when the world is generating. Hopefully these issues have been addressed. :) For now, I'd rate the update a 6.5/10 for returning players and a 9/10 for new players. :)

they took a good part of the randomness out of random generation...I really don't like knowing who is the trader in every biome...or that Rekt will send you to Jen who will send you to the same damn thing over and over.

Honestly, I liked everything I heard. And even though trading and questing is more my play style, I'm glad they got nerfed, because they were pretty overpowered. With crafting getting tuned to be more viable, I think this is a more healthy and more varied version of the game. Crafters will have to let me know if they like the idea of venturing into a high tier POI for legendary parts, though.

I definitely support toning down traders, have been pushing that for years that traders unbalance the core gameplay something crazy due to overpowered quest rewards and wares. So yes :)

This is awesome! Now I am more excited to play! Hm. I wonder when the first turret mod will be added for the truck. Or should I say, I wonder when the modders will create one. Listened to the end. Yeah, I agree. I did get bored near the last few months, and just play other games, or don't play at all, and watch youtube. If they added things I've been waiting for, like mining enhancements, mining carts, more realistic gameplay, then maybe. Also, stop removing features that were standard - like food animations, farming, and learn by doing.

i only have around 1400 hours of playtime so i am nobody special but i am looking forward to everything they are giving us. i am happy with the progression of the game and understand that as it gets closer to their goal we will have less and less to look forward to from any updates

Hey Vedui! I can think of no better person to come to with this issue. I have been playing around with random world generation. No matter what settings you use, no larger towns will spawn in the forest biome. It might be to make that first biome easier for newcomers, but still... I am going to reduce the size of the forest to try to make more larger towns spawn elsewhere. Also, it seems no matter how small I make the Wasteland, large cities always spawn there.

I would've liked to see maybe a tribred system of: learn by doing, perks, and magazines. Maybe the "learn by doing" could be more of a "get better by doing" that allows us to level something like Miner 69'er from 0-100 just by mining rock and ores. Perks could still be in the game with allowing us to... get more ore and materials out of mining, like Mother Load. And magazines could unlock new tiers of tools to unlock, and special effects? I don't know, just brainstorming. I feel like we can have a mixture of all those systems at once somehow.

I wish they would add things such as more food such as fruit trees as well as more weapons and different ammo and more vehicles all with different specs. Wouldn't be that hard for them. Also not sure why they didn't make scrap polymer as part of the recipe for weapons.

Yeah more calibers of ammunition would be great, this is a personal thing but it drives me nuts that the lever-action uses 7.62, they almost never fire pointed rounds

I sort of don't like the way they generate now though with a central biome and spokes of the other biomes. As that's pretty much the only way now unless you do the silly circle or line generation.

1.0 feels like alpha 22 with the missing content not showing up the game will not feel fully feature complete until the other parts promised are added so in my mind 1.0 is really in 2025 when they are added. will still play the game but i got burn out so kind of just put it on pause play. been playing Techtonica as of late an 0.50 update will be out on the 17th so ill be playing that game during streamer week to side track my week wait annoyance regarding streamer week. then puck up the game again playing it wise...

Been two dev streams so far, both, for PC fan boys...next to no new info for console...and most of that is "it's in the road map". I don't know why we are expected to be patient...still getting the mushroom treatment.

Likely to still happen sadly. However, with more remnant poi's out in the world, at least easier to explore POI's which have no (or less) triggers hopefully!

Years later they are finally nerfing trader. Been broken for so long not sure ill ever go back to using the trader again. Why limit yourself to quests in such a massive open world game. Either way this alpha looks Surprisingly good.

Very true. Did seem to be the case you CAN find Q6 items, if you do infested T5 (ie, they become T6) quests, as that appears to unlock Q6 legendary items in the infested chest at the least.

@@Vedui42 shhhhhhh. stop. using. trader! Its a survival game, having a mechanic that lets you chose rewards is a fail let alone getting TWO. One for doing a quest and then money to spend on the exact item you need is insane. But I do understand that the game is also very arcadey. I have gone from a hardcore survival player to just putting on creative mode and just playing the game as an fps tower defense game
