Check the fix it end on yr awning. Its where the top of the leg fits into the back of the awning front panel. There is an issue with the aluminium and plastic end cracking or breaking. I have just had to have both ends replaced. One broke off, the other cracked through. This is a design fault both Fiamma and Jayco are aware of. Buy the parts yourself online. They are hard to get but are worth having on hand.

We have a fiamma awning too. I added a stainless steel eye bolt at each end. It only sticks out about 25mm. I the made up a stainless steel cable with a turnbuckle hook at each end and put that between the eyebolts to make a clothesline. Works a treat and easily stowed away. I coil it up and use some velcro cord wraps to keep it together. I stow it in my collapsible bucket.

sounds like a great idea. We now take a portable clothes line wherever we go. We're planning a lap of the map and so we'll also buy a portable hand tumble washer

First of all dont go out and leave the awning out. And maybe think about haveing a diesel heater fitted if theres room much better at night than running the A/c

Finally picked up our blue RM last week. Very happy with the fuel economy - 8.3l per 100kms compared with 13.5 on our previous Renault Sunliner! And no rust on the roof. Only problem so far is a big rattle in the drawer that has too much slop in it. Cheers Ian

Thanks for your info. We received our RM19.1 on Wednesday and have so far been busy thinking where everything can be packed in. We paid several thousand dollars for "Vantek" paint protection so hopefully roof was cleaned off properly and then protected by the ceramic coating. We had awning problems with our caravan which had a Thule windout awning. We soon learned how to adjust the position of the outer ends of the swing out arms to correct. We had another problem with the awning when we wound it in not knowing that there were twigs and leaves from a tree caught in there. This causes the roll to be bulkier were the debris is and consequentley it wound in quicker than the other end. The awning roll is adjusted by the dealers by adding thin tape to the bare roll. So it doesn't take much debris to throw it out of kilter. Will keep an eye (and an ear) on the air conditioner.

Probably a bit of a problem these days, so many people ordering carvans/campervans/motorhomes the demand is there so perhaps the 'rush' is on to build stuff as quickly as possible and things like the metal flakes on the roof are overlooked

Looks like something vibrating in A/C. Might need something to dampen the sound (bit of felt?). Could mark the position of the awning brackets with a permanent marker maybe? As you keep your bed permanently setup, do you eat outside? If the weather is bad outside what do you do for eating inside as the table is part of the bed. Very interested in buying this model of van. Seems a good option for travelling when I retire at a reasonable cost. Have enjoyed your videos.

great ideas thanks. We haven't had an issue with the weather so far. But it's easy enough to just sit across the bed at times and eat, which we have done sometimes. This model is good value for money compared to others on the market. We also put thin rubber stripes between the air con and the roof as this cuts down some vibration.

Hi Greg, there is only me and my dog so I sleep on one side and leave the other side to sit on. I think the table is too big so I bought a card table that folds up and goes behind the driver’s seat when I’m not using it.

Thanks for that info. We are due to pick ours up in March from Brisbane Camperland so i will be checking roof! Where did you get the rear sunscreens? I am keen to get some. What sort of fuel economy are you getting from the Renault? Cheers Ian

Hi Ian, We got ours there as well. Our came with the fitted screens for the front cab and rear. Mileage - On a run we get around 9L/100km. On a tank about 1300km on a trip. Hope this helps.

Thanks, appreciate your video update. I also had a loose nut on my Fiama awning, something I will keep an eye on in future. I have a question regarding the fridge, when I'm not travelling I turn off the fridge using the switch on the fridge door but the interior light stays on which means I have to leave the door closed. Any suggestions please.

i have the same issue. maybe you could try putting tape on the button in the door that operates the light. If you can't have the door open to dry out between trips it can cause mold to develop.

@@vantripinoz369 In the cupboard below the fridge are two switches - one for the water pump and the other for the van. I've no idea what the van switch does and not brave enough to switch it off but wonder if that will turn off the fridge.

My 2022 jayco /renalt has a clanking noise in air con aswell, mentioned to dealer who said it could be something not lined up inside the unit, have to book in for a check up. , have you had any issues with tv getting hot at the back?

Hi Wendy, No, we haven't had any issues with our TV. With the Air con - last time we were away everything was fine. And prior to that when a technician came over to check it, it was all good. Hopefully it will be fine from here on. We're heading to Cairns in a few months for another adventure.

We had it checked by an authorised repair centre and found that the motor and blade had moved slightly. It was moved back and fixed into position and thankfully is working normally
