Which that decision even still came back to bite me because I have no intention on ever playing Starfield again lol. Makes no sense to buy day one anymore.

I think it probably had to do with the Denuvo DRM they put on top of the game. Thats why the game ran fine in the open world on console, was still a bit slow in cities, but once they put Denuvo on top of the game it crippled it especially in cities. Denuvo has been known to do this to games in the past but publishers still love it because its hard to crack. Games make the most money shortly after release, by the time it is cracked the game has been out for a while. Edit: Check out the Digital Foundry video on KZbin wjem they tested Resident Evil Village with and without Denuvo.

Talk about the cities skylines 2 disaster, especially after the jokingly absurd dlc. The whole community which had held hopes is so annoyed and angry at the devs. The whole game is mostly broken as of now, there's immense bugs, performance issues as well as the whole economic models not working. And then they suddenly drop a dlc for 10bucks with barely much content, especially infuriating when they offered such similar content, rather even more in 3 to 5 bucks and it came in a much better state. The audacity to charge so heavy and now paygating trees, (4 tropical trees....) which will help decorating and playing tropical maps can now be paywalled from maps requiring one to own the recent DLC. The DLC last I checked had 4% positive reviews out of nearly 600 people on steam. It's worth a story and how paradox is still tryna milk a lot and making disastrous decisions after decisions.

Very weird, over 60 hours in Dragon's Dogma 2 and I haven't had a crash or major stuttering issues that I've noticed (of which 50 hours were put in before the first patch). Idk if that's because I'm lucky or because my cpu is just that good but it's not a top end pc and when I upgraded the cpu I just picked an average one. Nothing really expensive. I did manually adjust the graphics after the introduction into the game to see if I could prevent any issues from popping up like adjusting ground clutter, shadows, clouds, and a few other things and never came across any issues. If I did they were negligible. The game didn't close for me once when I exited it and had to task manager it, that's about it for my issues.

The problem started when the steam page of DD2 came out and it was priced at $70 WITH NO REGIONAL PRICING. Everyone was complaining about the price for months before release especially those from 3rd world countries. Usually Capcom would price their new games at my country at $40. So that $70 price tag was shocking to a lot of steam users. When it came out and the PC version had poor performance and had microtransactions that was the final straw and people bombarded it with negative reviews. If Capcom had added regional pricing I'm pretty sure people would complain less about the state of the game and it probably would have around 70% - 80% positive reviews. Capcom got greedy and they got what they deserve.

I used to work as PC / Third Party Compliance Tester for a major publisher: Bugs for consoles are easier to ID and fix since the hardware doesn't change and has limited variations. i.e. PS4 / PS5. Also, Console OEMS (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft) have minium standards for UX, Framerates, Accessiblity, etc - if those fail your game can't ship on their platform. PC is the exact opposite - there are thousands of comibinations of hardware and no one gatekeeping quaility - So instead of investing like 100k into hardware every year and putting more folks into their PC Compat teams, they sit back, wait for the error logs to roll in and do patchs. btw, if you patch a game too much on console, you will get booted - like with cyberpunk. Lastly, I am not saying this is a good thing. it is terrible - best practice is to wait a month before playing the game and if you can buy them on discount.

That being said turning them down to anything lower than max actually gives me less FPS and the game looks very bad shadow wise if you do not have it on max cause the shadows can start bouncing all over the place crazily. That being said I have had a blast playing it and def think it's a great RPG underneath the optimization mess.

Same issue that we had with Anthem, publisher forced a bespoke engine onto a game that's the exact opposite of what said bespoke engine was made for, so the dev team spent more time trying to make the engine work for the game they're trying to make, than making the game, ergo we had almost no game when it actually released. Then you add on intrusive, ancient and horrendously unoptimized DRM solutions that cause performance problems in every single game it exists in, and is, despite what people believe, not actually hard to crack at all.

In the 40 years I have been an active gamer and almost 25 years as a PC gamer, I have never once heard a reason for bad ports (ports from consoles>PC or arcade>anything) that wasn't just an excuse for either a) We can't be bothered, or b) our devs suck the big one. Assuming someone isn't trying to make a modern game work on old hardware (like these multigenerational releases for console, or for a more specific example, Primal Rage on SNES... It's definitely and engine built for certain types of games but is being pushed by Capcom on all of their games even though it's capabilities are not built for those types of games hence the problem we have with DD2. Kinda reminds me of EA's Frostbite Engine primarily built for FPS games mainly for Battlefield but was pushed by EA to be used by all their games which led to the development hell of Anthem.

The problem with the micro transactions (other than simply existing on their own) is that it incentivizes Capcom to keep banning modders who break the DRM to mod the game. @@zacharyanderson6836 The problem with DG2 is Denuvo. I have had PCs since 2001, and I have had both PS and XBox consoles since the PS3. The PC hassle you call of having to find this and that right version of driver or software is not a thing anymore, hasn't been for a while; the problem is bad optimisation of games and this was never not a problem. The problem is just made worse by the performance gap between an entry-level hardware and a top tier hardware and people not accepting that a mid end PC can still play a game as well as a high end PC but at lower graphical fidelity and FPS. The reason devs don't like the XBox Series S is because the consumer cannot accept that their game will look "less good" compared to Series X or PS5, they are worried people will nitpick. Same for PC, it's either it has to look as good as the console, but is worse cause it has to on a way wider range of hardware. Publishers, devs, and consumers, everyone needs to just accept the performance gap between hardware is meaningful now and embrace it, and also not be so scared as to use Denuvo (the people who pirate will always pirate no matter what). i dont know why he said there is only auto save and inn save. You can literally press start and save(if not in combat)
@joshuac1364Ай бұрын
I think the issue people are having is loading from the inn which could be an earlier save overwriting your latest save in the open world. Unfortunate miss clicks overwriting hours of gameplay on accident. Weird issue

Im playing on a 4080 with an i7 13700KF 32gb ram, i have not had a single crash. I drop to 70fps in Vernworth, which isn't an issue. i would like to see it improved though but so far smooth sailing. Absolutely loving the game with so far 32 hours on record.

Same I have a different PC though, all of the hated and supposedly inferior AMD build and haven't had one crash in 65 hours.

Yeah nothing wrong with AMD hardware, They've come a long way and are doing well. But yeah everyone i know thats playing it on PC is only having fps drops in vernworth no crashes. @spazzticzeal6238

I don't begrudge tiny monitization like they did with DD2 if it's not for greed purposes, and more for support for future DLC, it's not nearly as invasive. But when they wait until after reviews to include it that's when I call out greed and scumbaggery because it's so blatant, and anyone defending this are just as much of a scumbag.
@ScentSenseАй бұрын
It was in the original game and every other Capcom game from the last 10 years. They also said that you'd be able to purchase the pre-order and Deluxe edition items separately, so I have no idea why you people are pretending they just snuck it in somehow. It was as clear and obvious as could possibly be, and exactly the same as all their other games... Including the original fucking game lol. Try again though, trolls.
@MusicSkeletonKeysАй бұрын
People keep repeating Capcom’s history of petty micro-transactions as if it’s supposed to legitimize what’s in DD2, or that it’s common knowledge. It’s not compelling. And it paints a creepy emotional bias that points prospective players elsewhere.
@Captain.AmericaV1Ай бұрын
@MusicSkeletonKeys it should do since Capcom blatantly waited until reviews to release it, which again I'll reiterate is, at best, egregious. No one can defend that blatant behaviour, without looking like a scumbag themselves.

@@ManinaCAGEyou did not play this game correctly at all. Clearly just rushed main story and did no exploring or side quests at all. How many seekers tokens you got??? Idiotic comment
@NunoflashyАй бұрын
@@gellis24 Yeah, 100%ing the game in 28h is either a lie, or he followed guides to accomplish it, which defeats the whole purpose of 100%ing in my opinion... Ruining the experience for yourself by watching walkthroughs and guides. I have 120h played and I haven't finished the main story yet, been exploring and doing side quests and still not seeing the end of the game, which is great, taking it slow. Around 130 tokens :D

In addition to the Steam rating, they should also implement a performance rating, so it's: >Recent Reviews >Overall Reviews >Performance Rating

I played it on PC, 49 hours and only a couple crashes, the occasional frame drop but they already really improved performance. I have an RT 6700 XT which is an equivalent to what's in the PS5. Late stage i9. Lucked out.

@wesleybaldwin1999Ай бұрын
@TheRealUcanUwill this is why games should be on console only. I get it, you want a few frames. The human eye cant resolve more then 4k or 60 fps so with modern consoles and tvs you really cant say you need pc for better graphics. Theres too many random factors that are different for each pc. Dudes who watch a lot of porn are gonna have a worse time with a game then someone else. Errors are so easy to accidentally create on PC. Pcs are for creating, for work. Leave playing to the consoles.
