I want to thank you for these videos and history. I love the 20s - 50s. Big history and social history buff of this time. I think it is the best time for the people and the country. And I have had an interest all my life. There is something about this era that is so fascinating. From film, design, costume, makeup, the way we lived, ect. Beauty Parlors to Department Stores to Drive ins to elegant dinner clubs, ect. Nothing today compares. So thanks for this channel

Now we cover embarrassing video shorts that make us laugh, war realtime videos that make us recoil in horror, talking heads that entertain us with the laughable politics of the day, game shows gone bad, and hate spewing doofeces spewing. GRRRRR!

The Prince of Wales in 1923 was Edward VIII, who, after he became king upon the death of his father in 1936, abdicated the throne so he could marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson. There was also some speculation he was a Nazi sympathizer. Edward's brother, George VI, became king and reigned through WWII, delivering "The King's Speech," which became a Hollywood movie starring Colin Firth. Queen Elizabeth - who just died in September - was the daughter of George and the niece of Edward.

Wow, fascinating how they described the novelty of getting to see a whole game that they were not present at. Really makes you stop and consider that so few people actually got to see sports play out if they didn't go in person. And the speculation that people might like to see whole games.... Makes me feel really privileged to have access to the sheer amount of content we all take for granted.

A fer instance would be baseball. We now have the technology to follow the ball up close and personal. And the game itself has evolved in many ways. Going to a game now requires money, transportation difficulties, binoculars and at least two cell phones. Watching it at home is easier and more popular. Now we are bombarded with information both good and bad. Like life.

If you'd like to talk about stories outside EEUU in the 1920s, in Spain there was a special case of crimen mistake where 2 guys were tortured for several years to confess a murder, but the real victim was actually alive. That was discovered in 1926, named "El crimen de Cuenca" o "caso grimaldos", there was even a movie in 1980

Dear Channel, Ignore James Miller. He deems to suffer thwarted expectations bc he has undertaken to write lengthy comments and now his ego is involved. (My phone app has a nifty feature where I can view previous comments.) He does not seem to appreciate that every channel on YT has its own style. Also, many many channels either don't ever "heart" comments and many many do not answer comments. I appreciate as well you may just be fiercely private and or have a professional circumstance that precludes you from having a spotlight put onto your identity. Or that you are darn busy. Or that this income from YT is just a part of your overall career and earnings etc. That it is a hobby not a cottage industry. His comment made me uncomfortable. You go to a lot of effort and research to find material to use and to work inside You Tube's myriad and ever changing rules. You have to live the nerves of copyright strikes and YTs punishing limits. Maybe he was affecting the guise of a gossip columnist but more he comes across as rude, especially casting aspersions on your fans, likening us to syncophants. He also seems jyst ungrateful. You are supposed to with this article conjure footage and photos where there are not more. Anyway, I did not respond to him bc he is obviously spoiling for a sparring match. But I wanted to comment. Keep being you, the 1920s channel. I guess, if you are picking up a detractor you could say, you have arrived! Also, if you still have the Twitter, I presume you do interact a bit there. That would be expected in that social medium. You Tube is not a social interactive medium per se. Every channel and its creator is different and runs their channel how they see fit. I leave off now saying what I always want to say to apparent complainers, "It us a big You Tube and you are free to go be on it, and oh yah, start your own channel if you feel so strongly about it, and good luck doing as great a job." Cheers.

The difference being that instead of being part of public service the news was changed to entertainment division in the 70s. They had to pump up the scandal to bring in dollars where before that was not an issue. That also forced news to change from reading the news to having mostly opinion. And cable - with the coming of Fox - forced many news sites to take sides of either right or left. Both of which were wrong. Sometimes the right is right about things and sometimes the left is. No one is right all the time but, now it makes it sound that way. And with Social Media and its misinformation and lies, it also distorts from the facts and what is real.

@@Hyperion509 Yeah, as long as there is a medium it will be abused for gain. This has never been not true. I feel like comparing any time to another time is usually a fools errand, especially when things are taken in isolation. The best we can do is try to learn from the mistakes and tricks of the past, but that requires education and a will to stop it from happening all over again. Ultimately, like any animal, when the environment changes, we have to adapt, for good or ill. Our relationship with media is no different. The biggest problem nowadays is how fast things change and how quickly new forms of deception are introduced compared to how fast people can learn or cope. People have always been duped by the sketchy and powerful, though.

Well, HE, the ever-to-be unnamed One, is getting to be rather lazy nowadays. He reads magazines but shows to us only very few illustrations from it, 'featuring' the ubiquitous slooooooooow pan upwards, downwards or sideways. Is our unnamed (a simple first would do just fine) mellifluous-voiced youth now all played-out? Well, we'll see for how much longer this sad downward trend continues . . . Also we note that NEVER (that I've ever caught sight of) does he condescend to answer a single question as--put by his oh-so-complimentary loyal fans. Why this insult by omission??? Yet another not-so-promising-for-longevity trend. Signed -- "The Anti-sycophant"
