Being a "Yank" but knowing our family's roots reached all the way back across the pond, makes me feel somehow that this beautiful place is somehow a special place even to me! I wish I was a wealthy person who could go along the real estate trail and scoop up all those chateaus mentioned that are in such need of saving! Bummer! 😔 Let me hasten to say how glad I am that at least this wonderful old place is in the right hands, apparently! Will enjoy watching the progress - even from the southern US! ❤❤❤

Every single other chateau restoration channel I watch renovates that space onto something else! Yay for you. What an amazing project! Can you make a video sometime about the process of purchasing the chateau? Was it listed for sale? Did you have an attorney, broker or real estate representative for the purchase? How did you learn you needed an architect to approve every step of the renovation? What are some things that someone looking for a chateau project would need to ask or research during the purchase process? I'm very interested in anything you can share about the process.

Hello from Brisbane. What an adventure - love it. I find it interesting that you have to follow such strict guidelines with regard to restoration even though the French government aren't prepared ( can't afford) to restore these fabulous historical buildings !!!!

What an enormous task you have ahead ,,, I would have been a "hard pass" on anything deemed historic , it just means that you'll have a bureaucrat vetoing every decision you make and multiplying your already incredible expenses by a factor of at least 5 and the time to completion by at least 2x.

After labouring hard to support the destitute, while holding up the traditions of old to point and comma, he moved his very own holding to the other end of the world. While only supported by a modest annual stipend, his urge to make good for all that harm the ancestors of the lowest classes (les sans-dents in french) have inflicted upon the most noble beings of France and their abodes has finally led him to Purnon. It is here where his final and most noble tasks await him, make amends while fullfilling every humans basic right to live in splendor. I love them Aussies 🤣

This has got to be the most massive undertaking of all thr Chateau reno channels! Very exiting to see your discoveries, your work and journey! Please don't use background music whilst talking, it works for zero KZbinrs. Use of music for motages and droneshots is fine, but try something other than your intro music or it will get tiring. It's a great intro but alot of the YT music libraries asian "impression" of older European music is looped and really repetitious and also used across other channels. In the long haul, your video and audio quality will determine who follows your vlog faithfully or just hits subscribe but doesn't really follow. There's an important difference. You'll learn as you go along, but I'm sure tips on good audio equipment like microphones that muffle the echo and other handy tips will be freely shared if you reach out and ask any of the more seasoned Chateau vloggers. Afterall they've had the same issues. I think there's good support and pepp between many of them who have become aquainted thanks to this platform and there's definately a massive wealth of experience and expertise amongst some so I think is your best shot at avoiding unnecessary newbie mistakes both in regards to your reno project, your videos and all sorts of problemsolving is to open for dialogue. You may want to visit a few and talk to them about your project and get som valuable feedback even... You are terribly courageous to take on such an enormous estate, I'll be routing for you and very exited to follow! ♥️

Whoops, hit send in error. What a joy to listen to your story and I can see why you fell in love with this beautiful home. I too, have always been interested in the history of Château’s, Castles, Plantations here, homes that have stood the test of time. I follow other Château owners and I am looking forward to your journey. It amazes me that the French Government has a “protection” on this beautiful place and others, but let them get into the state they are in. Do they also help financially with restoration as I believe England does? I am so looking forward to your next update.
