The problem with this particular incident is that there isn’t any wriggle room. It’s not like a debate over a players arm being in a natural position or not , or if the contact was enough to make the player go down. It wasn’t open to debate. This was non arbitrary. It was a foul that started outside the box and continued into the box( on the line being in the box of course). I’ve heard 3 former grade 1 refs say the same thing; even the SFA have agreed a mistake was made. The whistle WASN’T blown before Czerny’s foot had touched the line . Very strange and worrying really for our game up here.
