Really enjoyed that listen. John comes across a thoroughly decent and genuine fella. He’s right when he says that life humbles you as you get older. I haven’t been through the same things as John has, but have been thru the mill in other aspects of life and it’s heartening to hear his attitude to these types of things and one I can identify with.

Cracking t-shirt Tommy, I've worn that iconic shirt in many places such as Dublin Donegal Sligo Glasgow Durham Derry Hull Whitby York and Sunderland where it has always been well received. I was a huge Thins fan back in the day and had the pleasure of meeting Philo twice. A top man.

John's a big gentleman and what a player he was as well not just for Celtic but throughout his career. He talks so well about his fellow players and his own game too and he's very honest about everything. The day I heard he had cancer I was gutted but thankfully he's made a full recovery and he's still around for his wife and children and hopefully he has a long and happy life, God bless him and every Celtic supporter on the planet HH

Absolutely brilliant once again, we just never know who we are going to get on the show. I laughed when John said Joe Jordan telt him you cannae be using your elbow and right away I remembered the fist goal before he said it. Big Joe would hit anything and everyone with every part of his body. Never bit anyone tho because he had nae teeth! Classic! 🤣

Love Big John, biggest gentlemen to ever play in the Hoops, from personal experience anyway, number of times I've met him signings autographs and giving out photographs never missing anyone, if there were ten thousand standing waiting he wouldn't leave until every single person has been seen to, won't hear a bad word about him, this Dundee story people keep laying at his door is boring af, no matter what happened everyone makes mistakes and no one is perfect, anything he wrote in that article pales in significance to the great times he gave us on the pitch, the great way he is with our supporters in person, unlike some other's who have rarely any time for fans, personal experience again Paul Lambert was one of those, was practically sprinting to his car and any autographs he was signing he would just use his initials P.L instead Anyway, can't wait to see John and Strachan next weekend, I got a good few questions, John was part of my childhood team under Martin and what a team it was, we'll never have better in our lifetime again, even if we got catapulted into the EPL we wouldn't get better, not one current EPL team comes close to how good our side was under Martin, Larsson, Sutton, Hartson, Lubo, Petrov, Lennon, Lambert, Thommo, Agathe, Mjallby etc, wow, take me back

Big Joe Jordan was my school teams captain. His younger brother John was in my class and Joe was in my brother Peters class two years above us. The school was Saint Aidan's high, in Wishaw. There were many good players from Cleland who came to our school. But all the characters usually came from Shotts.
