... and not a single motorbike to be seen! I had a horse for 11 years and that's an Every day of the year "job". I live near Heathrow a/p and kept him at Maidenhead for 3 years. So, my mode of transport being a GSXR1000cc ... I HAD to ride 20 miles every day. If I lived on the IofM through the winter, it would have been childs' play to get about in winter. I love the place.

I was there at the end of March in 2013 and IoM had a massive storm and snowfall that completely brought the Island to a standstill as they were not equipped for it . If I hadn't have been there I wouldn't have believed it.They actually published a commemorative photo book documenting the event. I couldn't physically open my east facing front door due to the wind blowing off the harbour. I also remember the winter that Port St. Mary had their outer harbour's lighthouse blow right into the sea- so winter winds can definitely be fierce!
