Put the blizzards in the freezer so they don't melt and causing problems for the ppl in chill. I work in grill and I used to work in service. Just a heads up

When I worked at Dairy Queen it was absolutely horrible . The manager NEVER put enough people on shift. I would be in drive through by myself with 15 or 20 cars backed up plus helping the other employee do the ice creams, I would bag all the food, get the fries, take orders and take money and make the drinks by myself with NO help. And I would have customers getting extremely angry and yelling at me for the drive thru going too slow. I once got backed up so bad I had cars stuck in the drive thru for 25 minutes. I worked there from June to March. I had to quit before another summer came back around or I wouldn't have survived another year . Other than terrible management and being short staffed, the job itself was fine. I just needed more help but the cheapskate management wouldn't allow that.
@TheBovine095 жыл бұрын
This in my opinion is why management makes or breaks a store. Personally I have worked at dairy queen and the management is fantastic. By far and away the best fast food place I have worked. Obviously, I'm sure not every DQ is like this, but it is definitely possible to work at a great location. I certainly love my job at DQ and the management is a big reason why.

@jonathandpg27203 жыл бұрын
@@emh.170 I have to say that people really need to stop with the “it’s so gross”. Really gloves are kind of gross. No one uses them properly because they are a hassle. It’s very rarely more beneficial. Usually gloves are only used in client facing situations but otherwise or in situations where there is a real benefit to taking the extra time and precaution (like in an operating room) otherwise you really don’t want your workers wearing gloves. Those things will get nasty quick and should be changed more often. Hands can be cleaned. The better and cleaner restaurants (think the sit down more service oriented ones) won’t have their cooks wearing gloves for day to day food handling. I feel like people criticize a lot without understanding the science that is behind it.
@emh.1703 жыл бұрын
@@jonathandpg2720 I see where you are coming from however the gloves are used to prevent more cross contamination from happening, even after washing hands dirt and bacteria both get stuck under nails and some people have cuts big and small easy for germs to hide in. Hands are washed and then put into gloves it’s just an added protective layer. My state almost always requires gloves for food handling. It’s becoming more common for some places to require that even average crew members have to get a food handlers permit and that really pushes on the importance of washing hands and using gloves.
@jonathandpg27203 жыл бұрын
@@emh.170 I actually have a food handler's permit and study after study we see the problems with gloves. Gloves unfortunately are very often more dangerous than frequent washing of hands. The reason is that there is a real cost to gloves (environmental and monetary cost) to them. What people don't realize is all the steps to wearing gloves which time and time again are missed at restaurants. yes, there can be contaminants in your skin which would be the biggest risk factor but the minute you touch those gloves, the gloves get contaminated as well. The issue is then. the fact that you have to remove/replace those gloves as frequently as washing your hands and it's something that can easily be forgotten since your hands don't "feel" dirty and creates a false sense of security. That's why handwashing is much more pushed these days instead of gloves.

I recently started working at Dairy Queen full time on June 27th 2022. I make $9.75 an hour I get one day off during the week. I started out on nightshift working 5pm to close. Then this past week they moved me to dayshift. I typically work 11am to 5pm. But sometimes I’ll stay between 6-8 at night. If I work a double shift which I have once since I started I got an hour break unpaid. But if I stay till 7 or 8 at night I get an unpaid 30 min break that I have to clock out for. I typically work register/lobby. I help with ice cream too but I not good at making the medium or large cones yet.

LOVERSBLISS thanks for the advice !!! But it’s been 2 weeks since I gave them the application form and they still haven’t contacted me back 😑
@Bam076764 жыл бұрын
@@moelegendary953 i dont know if you still need this advice but I've also applied to many places and have recieved no reply too. Just keep applying to places. I recommend going on snagajob and creating a free account, and then look for jobs that are urgently hiring or were just posted recently. Trust me you'll get one!
