@@sumantabanerjee8287 Sen's work is in string theory ie which is o ly mathematical and not even partially correct. Abhay Ashtekar's Ashetkar variables are like how F=ma is to lagrange's equation. Ashtekar formalism is a partially Quantized Gravity. You know only prof amalkumar raychaudhuri. There was also a physicst called Datt he was the first one to predict the existence of black holes and Vishweshwara also kid learn things

@@ikshu0769after your 12th, get enrolled at some college, and do your BSc well. You could also look at the BS-MS degrees at the different IISERs and at the IITs. ICTS doesn't have a bachelor's programme. Anyway, after your Bachelors or your BS-MS, you need to sit for one or both of the following exams - TIFR, JEST. Get a good rank in both, get called for the interview, clear the interview and behold, you'll be enrolled :)

This video is as if a good review on ' STRING THEORY ' as well as a good review of faces whom I have personally observed as an observer since String 2000 conference @ TIFR, Mumbai. I am a proud Indian and proud citizen of Bengal. This field is very much exhausted by all our institutions , but not feel proud for physics or science. Quantum computer might use String in next 💯 s of year. As all we know blackholes always breaks and all its informations can be used as back up memories and hardware for future colliders. I did not get the conclusion of the black hole entropy calculations. Did the final results accounting for the multicenter states match up with the loop quantum gravity results or not?

So the result that didn't match the result from LQG was regarding the entropy of Schwarzchild black holes. That result did have a disagreement with LQG result and I don't think it was resolved.

Hey, i really hope you read this... Im in my 3rd year of BTech and I want to pursue theoretical physics (cosmology and quantum gravity) and im looking for ways to make the switch efficiently. Im in Allahabad University (Dr. Sen is just a few kilometres away from where i live in HRI. Yet so far away) I read about the Visiting Student Program at HRI. Do you think I should apply? I have studied quantum mechanics, cosmology and special relativity from the Stanford University open courses. Leonard Susskind.

Well, I think there is no harm in visiting it. If you get in and even if you don't understand there, you will be benefited. I would recommend to talk to some physics professors for suggestions regarding the switch (in case there is some administration issue in this switch). Well I don't know about the quality of Bsc that you are considering to do but as a general remark, I would say that to pursue your career as a physicist, it is very advisable to study physics in your undergrad and your graduate years. So, I would say that yeah, go for a physics degree if you want to become a physicist.

We use covariant form of equations so that we don't have to check if the resulting expressions transform correctly under Lorentz transformations. There is no "contravariant" form of equations. Physicists use the word "covariant" to refer to the equations that transform correctly under Lorentz transformations and also to refer to vectors that transform like the gradient operator. So, this is just a semantic confusion. Again, there is no contravariant form of equations.

@Jcactus213 hello my friend:) In 2023 I had tried this exam for doing PhD in mathematics. Even though I am MSc Physics they allow us to do PhD in maths if we could clear their entrance and interview, I knew some BSc level maths when I gave tution for some students then I prepared for a whole six months to touch over the MSc Maths topics and I realized that my six month preparation was no where near the exposure to maths a student will get in Two year MSc maths.. I didnt got selected. But now I am fully foccused on CSIR NET FE 2025:) from 2019 after my MSc I have been trying and trying for different exams and it is from the last two years that I am properly preparing without my thoughts wandering off to other topics. Last time I was close to JRF by 4 marks and this time I am preparing my very best to obatin the JRF for my PhD in Physics:) So do not loose hope... with focus and determination you try and try again , each time improving more and more by analysing what went wrong the last time and finally you will be able to do it. Each day you ask yourself "If the exam is today have my preparation reached to a level that is enough to get the JRF? if not then what am I to do next? which portions should I understand more? should I change the book I have taken for QM?" like this always keep a self talk with yourself to stay focussed and motivated:) All the very best my friend✌:)❤

Also you focus on the thing you want to do next it will help us get out of sadness, if we stay in sadness it is like holding on to hot stones and saying that our hands burning, we have to let go of the rocks to stop our hand from burning right? like this if we are in the Domain of Sadness we have to go through all the rules of this domain, the rules of this domain that I have felt includes difficulty in thinking and making progressive decisions, sleeping all the time and waiting for things to clear up in the mind, a psycological unwell feeling that seems to run back and forth from bottom of my jaw to the chest. it is only when we get ourself out of this domain we can take decisions wisely and start to work towards our goals.

@@rajkiran6707 damn man just like to say thank you and my eyes got bit wet while reading your comment. i am actually preparing for IIT JAM which is now 28 days left to for the exam and i am mechanical engineer i resigned my JOB from my company ,took drop started preparing for IIT JAM and TIFR. lets see what happens. only when i was in 10 th standard i added it in my bucket list to have Masters and Phd in Physics. but im afraid man , I'm 24 years old now so its hard staying home. but your comment has motivated me still.......thank you so much my big brother. passion for Physics has lead us both to this acquaintance.

@@Jcactus213 yes I can understand about the difficulty in staying at home issue when we get more aged and we have to provide our family support right? I am now 30 and for the last 5 years I did all I can from my part taking tutions to support my family and also my father works really hard to support me and my mother, mother from her side do some tailoring to support me and father. Through this triangulation we try our best to support one another:) but there were times at initial stages after my MSc I was not focussed so a great delay have occured for me to get into PhD, but now I am focussed and I am determined to get into PhD in the upcoming academic year of August. You are truly passionate to do Physics as you have given up your job for it and is preparing your best to clear the exam and that's truly amazing. In the upcoming 28 days stay focussed and cover all the important problems from previous year IIT JAM question papers and workout as much as problems you can and on the day of the exam you reach the exam centre in your most focussed and prepared state ever and give it your very best! Unlike TIFR which do not even publish our entrance score( if I remember correctly) JAM however is a very good opportunity as if we get pass the cutoff we will get a chance to get into MSc alteast somewhere in India and we can grow from there:) All the very best my friend stay focussed on your dream:)

It is good. You are in a quite good position. As you have done your bachelors in physics, you do have the skills that physicists require (e.g. coming to the right answer by intuition.. something that pure mathematicians don't always have when they work on theoretical physics) and you have done your Masters in mathematics which gives you mathematical tools that you can use in your research. So, in short, yes you can definitely contribute to theoretical physics. Good luck.

No where in this video a comparison between Sen and Sudharshan has been made. It is very possible that if you compare their contributions, Sudharshan's contributions come out as more important. It isn't claimed here that Sen is the biggest Indian physicist in the modern era (that's simply not true). However, using the words like "this Ashoke Sen" is very very disrespectful towards him.

If you see both of their interviews this thing is clear right?
