What would a Russian Invasion of Ukraine Look Like?
Russian/NATO tensions are at an all-time high. This begs the question, what would a Russian/Nato war look like?
Back in 2017, Russia conducted a series of military exercises known as Zapad, or “exercise West”. With their roots in the Soviet Union, Zapad military exercises have traditionally been shows of force, meant to let NATO know that Russia was willing and ready to fight. Despite Russian claims that the 2017 Zapad exercises were only preparations for counter-terror operations, the exercises that were supposed to feature only 10,000 personnel turned into a 100,000 strong mock-invasion of eastern Europe with one clear message: Russia's military might is back.
And now recent declassified US intelligence documents show Russia amassing 175,000 troops in hundreds of BTGs (or battalion tactical groups) in four locations along Ukraine's border. A successful invasion of Ukraine would need to quickly take the country and set up defensive positions, in essence telling the west that a counter-invasion would cost far more lives than Ukraine is worth. You missed them invading from Belarus. You also overestimated Russia's battle effectiveness but that's really not your fault. Most people said Russia only invades the eastern portion of Ukraine but since their invasion from the north and south has commenced it's very clear they want the whole pie. None of us could have predicted the overwhelming fervor of the Ukrainian people to fight Russia. The last thing you missed was the effectiveness of Russian aircraft. This is one that I still don't blame many people for though since it isn't that obvious. Russia has no experience in large scale operations involving hundreds of aircraft so they are failing fairly bad in this area. Either way nice video mate keep it up!

Your country is better off letting Russia do it’s thing. You have no chance in winning against the second most powerful army in the world. NATO won’t help you. The USA won’t help you (sending you weapons isn’t helping you, it’s taking advantage of your situation to make money). With the new developments I returned to this video. Interesting that when covering Russia's naval forces, you failed to discuss the various submarine forces on all sides. Future naval battles will be about subsurface combat: sure you can take out a big carrier, but a submarine can launch hundreds of missiles at critical targets undetected

Every Russian ballistic missile, cruise missile, and nuclear missile submarine are part of the Northern or Pacific Fleet. The only ones in the Black Sea are conventional attack submarines. They could have moved them for this attack, but I haven't seen a report about that

Would likely only want to take up to Dnipre River regions. I don't understand why we should care so much about Ukraine. It is a very high cost to war with Russia and China would likely use the chance to create a stronger Russian alliance and attack Taiwan. Asia-Pacific is the production center these days and more important to Americans imo.

@@AlexWebz This may be true but in every major historical conflict (and any future conflicts); The Dnipre River is a natural barrier to large troop movement and supply chains. I always negotiate a Dnipre River border when I war with Russia in Conflict of Nations, Chrimea is also a fortress itself. The red army fought many great huge battles in Chrimea against the Nazis.
