As a United fan it is obvious that Gary’s loyalty to Ole has clouded his judgement. Jamie speaks sense and I completely agree with his point. Also, I’m sure most United fans will tell you that we need a world class CDM, that is one key area that needs improving. The attack isn’t so much an issue as we’re stacked with creative players so going for Haaland next summer makes more sense than Kane right now.

In my opinion, you are overreacting. Its two games in, we haven't lost and somehow Oles job is in question. He was getting criticized heavily last year for not rotating his squad enough, now he is getting criticized that he made changes. If we want to challenge for a title and be in the late stages of all cup games, we need to use all our squad. Martial and Matic should be capable of beating Southampton. That draw against Southampton was down to individuals playing poorly. Maguire, AWB, Matic, Martial and Fred all played terrible. I dont understand why Ole doesnt play VDB but that's his decision based on many other factors that we may not be privy to. Either way, I am sure United will challenge this year.

Yes it had its limitations with Fred and Matic and Ole should have used Van De Beek over either one but the players should also take some of the blame for their performances. The difference was also that the coach before Ole was Mourinho, who also spent a lot to make Utd better, whereas that wasn't the case for Liverpool. Ole inherited a much better team than Klopp, and Klopp had to make most of them superstars himself, TAA, Robertson, Henderson, Matip, Firmino, Mane, Salah etc., were not as good as they are/were under Klopp. Also, if one coach could do it, doesn't mean every coach is gonna do it. Klopp, who was an experienced manager when he was appointed, came to Liverpool, had a project in mind, developed his project and it worked, they won both the UCL and EPL, the two most prestigious trophies for English clubs. Now, because of Klopp's success everyone thinks that other coaches will have the same result. That is why Utd is so patient with Ole, and why Arsenal are hell bent on trusting the process, but as I said, if it worked once doesn't mean it will work every time, especially since Klopp was a more experienced coach when he came in. Besides, it is not all about how much a team has progressed, it is also about how much potential a team has. Utd has a lot of potential to not only compete in EPL but also in UCL, and we haven't actually seen any of that under Ole.

For people who don't know more about Klopp's work before his Dortmund success: He consolidated a team in 1. FSV Mainz 05, establishing them in the 2nd flight and then being promoted with them to the Bundesliga on an amazingly low budget. It's not an easy, and I'd give Solskjaer until December, but some of his decisions have been woeful - for e.g. we need a midfielder who can take the ball under pressure and play one or two touch between the lines to transition play, VDB is a master of that, it's the Ajax way. How he isn't getting a game is beyond me. That's just one example of many.

Tuchel has won the Champions League and European Super Cup in just over 30 games in charge. Ole has no excuse. As I stated previously Tuchel was in charge of Chelsea for just over 30 games and has won both the Champions League,European Super Cup and got them to a FA Cup Final. They were foundering under Lampard. Arteta with all his criticism has won the FA Cup with a very average team he inherited. The first manager since Wenger to win a trophy for Arsenal. Steven Gerrard has won the Scottish league with Rangers and stopped Celtic. Brendan Rodgers has won the FA Cup with Leicester. Look what Pep and Klopp have won. For me this season is last chance saloon for Ole. We all want him to be successful for Man Utd but if he does not win a trophy this season then he has to go. Ole has had 0lenty of time and spent enough money.

@@Danifornia3 Thank you for your reply. I really think Man U had a great chance of winning the league last season when they went top in January. They then had fixtures that looked kind on paper starting with Sheff Utd but they(Utd) were beaten at Old Trafford by Sheff Utd a team who were eventually relegated and the wheels came off. They shortly gave a 2 goal lead away against Everton at Old Trafford. Remember last season Liverpool had their central defensive partnership missing and Man City had their problems. Ole had a great chance going for the title last season for all the aforementioned reasons. All Utd's challengers for the title this season are stronger. Giving Ole a 3 year contract was a mistake as he should be judged by how successful(or not) he is by the end of this season. Make no mistake Utd have the team and squad to win trophies. Ole has the tools to do the job. I was hoping Utd would win the first 4 or 5 games to get a good foundation but obviously that draw against Southampton was so frustrating. We all want Ole to be successful but some of his decisions have to be questioned. For example Martial is not a goal scorer and Ole should have played the team that won against Leeds. Greenwood is at his best when he plays central but Ole put him out on the wing against Southampton to accommodate Martial. Utd have to win trophies this season. Also a good run in the Champions League. Last season we should have knocked PSG out at Old Trafford and they PSG went on to the semi final.

Not saying Tuchel isn't a great manager (he obviously is), but I hate how people make these sorts of arguments as if having an exceptional start erases any question about whether the manager will ultimately be great in the medium-to-long-term. Di Matteo had a great start and won the CL. Got sacked. Scolari had a great start. Got sacked. Mourinho in his second spell won the title in second season. Got sacked. We could all be here in 3 years time and that CL might still be the only thing Tuchel has won at Chelsea ffs! We didn't solve the midfield problem, we didn't need Sancho, we needed a DM, we bought Pellestri and Diallo last season for RW position. Because the football was horrible to watch. The moral in the dressing room was a disaster and the number of players put on ridiculous contracts was embarrassing. Jose won two trophies in the first season but imploded the season after. And both Jose and LVG were miles off challenging for the league. They could afford going for a league cup because they were nowhere near challenging for the league. Ole may not have won a trophy yet, but we are in a far better potion now as a club than previous managers. Plus the football is actually enjoyable to watch.

You could see the direction Klopp was taking Liverpool. They had a definite style of play and were just missing pieces. They used to score loads and concede so they fixed the back line. Well said. Klopp gave Liverpool an identity from the get-go.Any sensible football fan can easily see where the future of Liverpool team was headed to then. There’s a huge improvement in the overall playing style, which was magnificent to behold. Klopp’s inability to achieve success earlier was down to the club’s financial constraints and not his coaching limitations. Same can’t be said about ole’s Man U. With the playing talents at his disposal, the team still fails to dominate and win games convincingly against lower oppositions. And can’t even go toe-to-toe against its equals

I'll tell you what United's style is. If United see that the opposite team is not too attacking then they play to their own speed. If they see that the opposite team is very pressing and possession retaining, then they counter attack. You can't be doing that when you are a top club.
