@Lau taro I am not using the word "genius" in its academic meaning and certainly not referring to his IQ points however, is Elon's success a matter of luck? I don't think so you can't create the first online payment system and then run an electric cars company and actually make it successful while creating the first ever reusable rocket and cuting the expenses of space travel to 1/10 of its cost by luck. luck can't do that this is just not luck. it is obviously not luck. the fact that some people are more capable of detecting patterns does not make them nearly as geniuses as Elon.

Gerrit Visser No some people just speak slowly. Their brain takes longer to process thoughts into speech or words. It’s called slow processing speed. So you might have to read over a question or problem multiple times before understanding what it means. These people get extra time during exams too. Doesn’t correlate to levels of intelligence though. Many very intelligent people have this. Elon though could just be a slow/poor speaker in general.

@@albuspercivalwulfricbriand5363 Neurogenic or acquired stuttering occurs after a definable brain damage, e.g., stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, or head trauma. It is a rare phenomenon that has been observed after lesions in a variety of brain areas (Grant et al. 1999; Ciabarra et al. 2000). what elon is doing is not really stuttering tho. its more of him being a perfectionist regarding formulation so he rethinks his entry point on a lot of sentences and statements. real stuttering comes from damage to the language part of the brain, so the brain has to partially learn to talk with a different part ill suited for the task.

I think his answer is a great testament to how benevolent Musk really is. The question was "What would he work on if he were 22?" And his answers all had the same characteristic of "do what's best for society" It's also sad though cause his answer wasn't do what makes you happy. Makes you wonder if he is, and if so how much, sacrificing his happiness for the greater good of humanity.

The argument would be that there's already a lot of resources and people working in that field, so an individual person's impact may not be too high.
@christiant.g.9945 жыл бұрын
My point was that the environment is a more imminent problem. The longer it takes to solve this problem, the more trouble we're causing for our planet, which in turn will impact us through the likes of extreme weather and climate refugees. The more people who work on resolving this situation, the faster we will likely find a solution. What Elon talks about is equally important in the long run (and personally, I think I would have enjoyed working in those fields more), but we're not "running out of time" the same way we are with environmental challenges.
