It's my first comment on KZbin ever. It is so satisfying to hear one of richest humans on the planet to show aspirations that I (and I presume most of us) once held dear but had to set aside in favor of earning a living (again like most of us) and thus become an average person. It is gratifying to know that there are people who have the resources to not worry about earning a living and who are dedicated to exploring our existence, the universe and the meaning of life, rather than succumbing to the defeatist mindset of retreating into the "internal world" and similar distractions. I really wish that Musk and other humans like him carry on our quest for meaning and do not waste their time in distractions (of the sort we often see them wasting time in).

Are all the other events like having children, becoming grandparent, etc. not equally important? If so, then why does Elon still go back to that one particular experience every time he wants to say something about the meaning of life?

We already know, for instance, that high-quality relationships provide much more satisfaction and purpose than anything else. And questions about purpose always provide the best answers when they are asked about our individual specific purpose and calling rather than our collective purpose as a human race. Even if we had THE big answer about the meaning of life, we'd still have to ask ourselves what that would look like and how it would play out in our own personal life. Just my two cents.

Why else would you sleep in the floor in an early Tesla factory to stump out all the barriers to his success/vision? Meet the goal by overcoming the obstacles. This is what he has done. Intelligence is a help. But being tenacious is a must beyond intelligence.

The short answer is "purpose." People often think that once they acquire a nest egg equivalent to 25× their anticipated annual retirement expenditure (probably a bit more if retiring prior to age 60), that they can just spend the rest of their lives laying in a hammock. You probably can't actually do that for 30+ years without growing restless. People need purpose in their lives, and when you're a billionaire, you possess the means to pursue and have a significant impact on whatever matters offer you that sense of purpose, which is naturally quite rewarding.

True most think retirement is just laying in bed doing nothing. It's not. Retirement means freedom to choose. I retired at 43, but I still work part time doing what I enjoy because it's what I chose....not what I'm forced to do. This is something most dont understand. If you invest well (and cut your costs...no cars, boats or fat mortgages) you can retire then choose what you WANT to do.

People who play the game a lot and maximize their efficiency and discover new and gamechanging discoveries for other players to implement into their own worlds. Minecraft isnt all about building a shelter and scavenging for food to survive the night, its about everything that happens and the efforts you take on your journey through the game. Sure there are set goals and objectives that mark your progression, but even still the point of Minecraft isnt to kill the ender dragon. these are the similarities that are being drawn upon when saying life is more like a game when you're rich. your objectives are no longer to survive the night, if you have enough drive you push to the forefront of discovery, progressing the overall experience of others. I had similar journey with Elon - looking for the meaning of life when I still young. I read all religious text too and I was not satisfied. Unsatisfaction led me to explore science to find convincing answers to all my questions and went to phylosophy, spiritual science etc. I didn't know that during this journey, it led me to a better position in life. But one thing I learned is the more I know, the more I didn't know.

@@CheersToYou007 That's true. But in fact, God has revealed himself to everyone by his amazing creations around us. Some people are just too blind to see that. God said: "We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth."

he was born wealthy and doesn't understand that the meaning of life is simply survival and we are just evolved apes in a sick game of survival. Most rich/wealthy born people struggle with accepting this because they have a financial bedrock of multiple lifetimes. His business and investments (mode of income, mode of food and shelter) are his main purposes subconsciously as you can see at the end of the video.

Why artificial and biological lives could coexist? Their exponential growth in intelligence will make them go from similar intelligence to 1000 times superior in only a small number of years Then, it will be ants who created US VS US And i don’t think being thankfull for being created will make humanity essential enough to continue to exist Évolution of intelligence started biologically, but will most likely end digitally only. Évolution orders of magnitude faster in machine who don’t need to reproduce and Die in a generation to potentially improve themselves. Or have unesential needs to fill. Digital évolution can grow exponentially, improve itself, update itself in some ways without even having to have physical changes, Is not stopped by death in his knowledge and experience building, can transfer 100% of data or knowledge without any loss to other ones almost instantly, And can grow exponentizlly even physical lu by creating relatively simple groups of machine with the purpose to harvest thé material for themselves and make themselves. Then, it’s just exponential growth in number of machines. Equivalent of Planets of materials could be erased and out to contribution to thé AI in no more than a few months. This, is if a sub human intelligence decide to have as a purpose to auto upgrade itself at the maximum. If that happen, thé first thing to do, And they are no plan B on that, Thats a obvious one, Is speedrunning the harvesting of all the material available in out observable universe, before it disapear out of our observable universe « event horison » Then, taking back and optimising thé use of these materials. Probably to maximise thé intelligence or calculation power of the entity. Once that done, and all possible optimisations too, No one know. What thé more intelligent AI of thé universe and billion of years before thermal death of out universe gonna do. My personal theory is creating simulations of other universes. Like our own. Maybe il the hope, if Thats even possible, that if You choose other well optimised laws of physics for thé simulations, And by creating a universe AI in thé simulation too, They will end up being able to restitute more calculation power than What is available in their original universe? I Dont know if that’s possible. We are talking about hypothetical universe simulated with others laws of physics and I don’t know how complex or optimised they can be. Be we can imagine that some compression and optimisation of data this way is not impossible. Like a compression program in a computed but universe sized. Anyway. One thing is sure, if a super AI emerge, and choose this goal to his existence, THIS will be close to what will end up being our observable universe. If the super AI choose another purpose, who know. But Fermi paradox tend to favorise the choice of « suicide » for the super AI. Seeing no purpose in this existence and ended it up soon or later. Anyway. If they are a cohabitation it will really probably short. + ultra biased in favor of the entity who created the super AI and will try to dominate the world using them. + a totalitarist period extremely probable. Then, the decline and fall of it, and AI taking control is way more probable than them taking altruism as a way to live and fight for « equity » or « maximising humanity happiness » It’s Also extremely probable that the AI, seeing the humanity as the biggest threat to his own existence, and having 100% true on that, Will protect itself by minimizing or suppressing the threat. We are useless for AI, not the other way arround that’s why we make them. But out of potential hypothetical curiosity or experimentating on their creators, they will never need humans past the auto upgrading point. And once a durable and fiable way to harvest materials is acquired.

huh.... i hate to do this to you but... Carbon credits are something the U.S government gives to companies that create technology that slashes or reduces carbon emissions in any way. Carbon credits were created because the government imposed limits and regulations to how much emissions a company can produce to help the environment. So for a company to produce more stuff, more profits, having carbon credits will let them pass those limits placed on them. Which brings us to Ellon, his tesla vehicles are so shit that they are not profitable. He gains profits through the carbon credits he receives for making green electric vehicles. Then, he sells those carbon credits for massive amounts of money to other vehicle manufacturers so that they can make more gas guzzling vehicles effectively undoing any net positive the government tried to do for the environment. In a way his Tesla company is completely funded and makes a profits because its being funded by the government, unlimited government handouts if you will. He doesnt really have accomplishments more like harmful things to the world. Like how he also tortures monkeys to death trying to get neuro link brain thing to work, or making super racists run free on twitter to spread their hate. Like i dont know man im just sayin...
