I agree with one part, having a Matriarch and Patriarch system where the oldest male and female on the map have the ability to grow to an even larger stage.... and have a system along the lines of acting as a family group (say being in proximity to others of the same species) gives a 3% HP boost per Dino, that may sound OP but it will encourage the players to act in groups and solo players to be more wary of groups.
@feyytime55718 ай бұрын
They do have similar techniques right now. Gallis pack bonus where they are faster when running with other Gallis and also the diet system where Gallis pack bonus speed is determined by the diet of the pack leader so they have shown that they could implement something like this
@ranfre9 ай бұрын
The devs talked before about having a family system with nests and providing boosts to players who raise other players up through that. They also talked about having a stage past adult where dinos go before eventually dying. This would mean that older players with strong dinos eventually have to start again and if they have built up a family group it would give them a place to start again and get more bonuses. There's also been talk about a dna point system to unlock perks, skins and even whole dinos which would also highly encourage people playing together in both cooperative and competitive ways to gain points for their dino dna. I think the devs have had some great ideas but we just haven't been able to see progress due to their decision to rewrite the game as EVRIMA. But I at least can commend them on trying to be open with the community about their progress through the regular dev blogs. Saw some progress this year with the diet system recently coming out and an early play-test of human characters. I'm excited for the possible future of the game, but continued patience is going to be required.

The Isle is essentially abandonware, all development has moved over to The Isle evrima. There is path of titans of course which I personally enjoy a lot. I don't really mind the questing system it has all that much, you can get some really cool unlockables if you do enough of them and they do give you an incentive to traverse the map! On path of titans there is barely a corner of the map where I haven't been yet. Of course you can also set up a private server in path of titans with a growth system closer to the Isle and without the quests.

I truly enjoy all of your ideas and would love to see them implemented within the game. I think the biggest thing missing from many games like The Isle is depth and realism. The two biggest issues I have with specifically The Isle is A) The map is just a map, it has no real effect other than locomotion for the players B) Dinosaur stats are pretty clearly cut in stone, you reach adulthood and your stats are an exact number with no flocculation based on what you did previously. To me, a map needs to be more than a setting where you walk around in - it should feel like a player in on itself. There should be seasons, floods, storms, cold fronts, heat fronts, etc. You should fear the very environment itself because if it catches you unprepared you should suffer the consequences. Every creature should be fluid when it comes to stats, yes there obviously has to be a minimum and maximum of each stat dependent on the creature but, to me if you spent most of your childhood on the brink of starvation, you shouldn't grow up to become a fully healthy and battle ready adult. I enjoy the idea of seeking out different items in the world that boosts your attack or defense or changes your color, etc. I think there should be a level of preparation for carnivores when its time for them to hunt and herbivores should obviously spend as much time as possible keeping their defenses up in case of an attack. I also really enjoy the idea of illnesses, it should be difficult to be at your 100% best all the time, especially for creatures like Dinosaurs where nearly every moment is spent trying not to die. Obviously you will get ill eventually and that will probably dictate how likely you are to getting hunted. Predators don't often have these 1v1 battles with healthy adults many Dinosaur media like to portray, they instead target the ill, young and old - not the animals within their prime unless they themselves are on the brink of starvation. Finally, I'd like to see some mutations involved and not all of them positive. Yes I know that if mutations are implemented you'll have those few people who will spend all their time trying to breed the best mutations in a single creature but, the idea of being born with a random deformity that can either aid or hinder you makes playing with that deformity a lot more fun.

Growth bonus at birth for spawning from a fully grown player. This would make levelling and team building faster. Most of what makes the co-op difficult is trying to help the younger players survive without starving yourself

How about acquiring species specific combat bonuses the more of a species you kill and eat? Stands to reason that while dinosaurs had small brains, they would pick up a few tricks in hunting specific prey. So if you play as a Utah Raptor and you kill an Allo, you get a permanent damage increase that only applies against Allo's.

1. Add wind direction & an actual sense of smell so you could detect animals in the area instead of just recent tracks. 2. Reduce growth time so you don't spend 6.5 hours growing only to die in 2 minutes. 3. Scars & broken bones reduce animal effectiveness/movement for the rest of the animal's life to discourage needless risks & fighting. 4. Allow the animals to walk backwards so tiny little predators can't solo kill an apex. 5. Fix hit boxes on bites or hits.
@sevenproxies42559 ай бұрын
They could shake up the combat system a little too. Most combat for carnivores seems to consist of running, biting and running and biting some more. And the herbivores seems mostly like they run, ram, run and ram. Mix it up a little bit with some grappling, since that's what wild animals do a lot of the time during fighting: try ro grab the opponent or prey while avoiding getting grabbed by them.

If I can add my 5 cents to potential ideas to add to the isle which in certain modes or game styles might work is the evolutionary trait and genetic information one aquires through hunting that potential gives one access to genetic traits qualitys or alternations to the form of the dinosaur one uses. Example could be the raptors agility/ air maneuverability, triceratops horns, chameleons camouflage ability etc. Room for what ever the devs have in mind. Diversity, dynamics mixed with open world and storys leaves a very interesting realm of possibility for this game.

Easy way to encourage map migration would be same as in real life. In different times there is more or less food in certain parts of the map. Herbrivores could smell which way is more food. Basking could be interesting if more exposed, high places gave better stamina boost.
@prognemesiss9 ай бұрын
i think the IV system of pokemon could be an interesting addition to the isle. you could have your dino specialize in sprinting, or ambushing, or biting etc. and be a little stronger (or weaker) then the average, simply by how you play the game. this would require that you can train your dino to enable this specialization. Perhaps you can train your biting abilities by biting into trees or something, this needs to be fleshed out first before it can even be implemented.
@TheMorbidHobo9 ай бұрын
While I love the idea that the reason to continue playing is that you need to survive, and there's no way to do so without confrontation and vulnerability, the grind to grow up to the point where you can really do anything is what kills it for me.
@windrider9709 ай бұрын
You should try Deep Rock Galactic. It's a very good co-op game that's a blast to play with friends, and somehow the devs figured out how to foster positive player interactions even if you're playing with random people who can dynamically join or leave. The game is very simple and doesn't require a powerful rig to run, but it has surprising depth.

what if you had a territory system where you would have to eliminate all threats in that area and then a part of your map would become yours and you'd get some bonuses such as food being more effective depending on the size of the territory, increased awareness of other players and having stuff like the location of water marked out on the hud
@Chareidos9 ай бұрын
Foodefficiency? I don't know about that, but some smaller defense buff or something that could explained psychologically... maybe a bonus to the range of smell for knowing your territory. Something in this small extend would be fine. But calories should not change in my opinion. :) If the devs implement the planned stamina rework, those with an established rule over a fruitful territory will have the upper hand towards wandering nomads.
@Chareidos9 ай бұрын
Discovering Areas, or a kind of minigame where the specimen you play get experience with roaming the isle is a good idea. Could be combined with "establishing" your territory or something. Sharpening or increasing your claws and teeth should not be limited to one specific location in my opinion but maybe limited. I would avoid making it a mechanic like a quest-system, that feels so superficial and random as it does in PoT. The Nesting System with the Matriarch or Patriarch Bonus is very agreeable and pretty much the thing I had imagined myself in varying ways as it was already stated by the devs in some capacity! I personally would argue that Dinos should not be immortal and in order to fight their limited lifespan they would actually HAVE to nest in other players, with being rewarded not only to live longer but getting buffed.

Definitely had fun the first two weeks the meso server was up, but Definitely felt like id explorer and seen enough. I think it needs more ai herbies free roaming, going farther into the growth cycles or having packs that spawn that can take on lesser carnivores easily; forcing players to make better use of their dinos abilities and play styles would be nice. Maybe even ai spawned apex carnivores that require avoiding or a team effort would be cool, as an American i did a lot of playing when there was at most 6 players at a time

In the dev timeline they laid out they have elder stages, different hypos and other weird genetically modified dinosaurs. Humans, mutant human/cannibal things it all sounds cool but I've played this game for YEARS and evrima is only just getting some of this stuff. There's also ANOTHER new map they've been working on because the Evrima map is too big. I think the isle needs a few simple things one thing is shallow puddles to drink from because even the biggest baddest dinosaur is getting jacked by Deinosuchus at the moment it's fun the first 2-3 times then it gets old and then you get REALLY tired of it happening. They also need more AI as the map is so huge and your options as a predator are basically zero, can't tell you how many times I've starved. I take long breaks from this game but there's always something that brings me back.

If it's a dinosaur fighting sim then why not simply simplify the process. Turn it into an actual fighting game or beat 'em up but with DINOSAURS! Every developer's first mistake is being too ambitious. To fix a game, one must not add content, but remove it instead. Art is perfected when nothing can be removed from it. You can't take away Mona Lisa's smile without ruining the piece so it HAS to be there.

Some suggestions: -More paleontological accuracy. Feathered raptors, 2020 Spinos, giant Hadrosaurs, Deinocheirus and Therezinosaurus. -Pterosaurs. Pteranodon, Tropeognathus/Ornithocheirus, Quetzalcoatlus, and Hatzegopteryx to make death from above a possibility. -Migration mechanics. Herbivores have to keep migrating in search of food. -Do something to make Sauropods more fun without making them too OP. -Dating/Mating system. Your dinosaur only gets to procreate if it can impress a member of the opposite sex. -NPC non-Dinosaur extinct animals such as Simosuchus, Didelphodon, Cimolodon, Onchopristis, and Hesperornis.

The first thing they need to do is fix the map in EVRIMA. That map isn't worth exploring because it is so boring. And near impossible to see in. Second, they need AI Dinos. They don't even have to be hostile AI, but at least something to fill out the world. Adding prey mammals and small playable dinos was so stupid. At this rate, it will take them another 5 years to match the Legacy Roster. So disappointed in where the game went after 2020.

I'm not usually cynical about stuff, but there is a special place in my heart for the types of people that are behind "The Isle". This entire video is predicated on that The Isle as a game isn't just a huge economical grift. I could go into pretty deep details about my thoughts and feelings on the subject of this game but the bottom line is that they're arresting the games development on purpose. I personally won't be revisiting the game unless It's to hang out with friends. I hope that by bringing more attention to the game you can actually inspire change and reform and not just trap more people into enriching some pretty scummy people.
