It's illegal to use a fake name IF it you are involved in fraud, trying to intentionally misleading people to think you are someone else, or perpetrating identify theft. Otherwise, it it not illegal, but not allowed on many websites because it goes against the website's policies and usually use a software to detect face names, which is why you usually you get banned from some websites for having a "Fake Name" all of a sudden. (In reply to Eener9Lilly)- Screen names are quite different than fake names, a screen name is similar to a stage name- it is used as a way to get you known, or a word/multiple words with maybe some numbers to make you stand out. Plus KZbin/Google+ isn't very strict when it comes to names.

When you take a picture the shutter that moves to expose the film to light is rectangular. I recommend looking up the slow mo guys "Inside a camera" video to show you how it all happens :D

Because inside of the camera their is something called a CMOS sensor (well most high quality cameras from my personal knowledge have CMOS), which is square and sort of captures your picture, and a square/rectangle censor produces a much better picture due to reasons far too irrelevant for my knowledge. Circle lenses are just less bulky and have been chosen; when the picture goes to the sensor, it is a rounded shape actually, the sensor turns it into an image that you're used to.
