Your body can't get used to dropping temperature though. You feel used to it since it suddenly doesn't feel cold but in reality things could get vert bad for you if you don't get out within certain time frame. Why you stop feeling cold was explained in the video.

Your body can get used to the feeling because the rapid change in temperature is a bit shocking to the outside of our body but the core temperature remains the same. After a while all the heat will radiate out into the water and you'll start shivering again. Then you'll stop again.
