If they are actually remaking the movies or turning it into a series, imo they should address atleast most plotholes and inconsistencies in the story itself and figure out how to put that on screen. I also found some movies hard to understand for someone who hadnt read the books. As a kid I saw HP3 before I read the book and I just didnt understand the movie, cause some things only make sense when you know the parts the movie left out. JK had some problems in her books regarding consistency, tone, racism, etc. but something I think she did well was make sure that things are happening for a reason. You dont stumble into a situation and wonder why the characters are even there. Admittedly that too stretched my suspension of disbelieve at times, but it (mostly) made sense. I am afraid that similar to cursed child a simple reshoot of the movies with new actors and cgi is gonna end up as a cashgrab without the true passion and "magic" that those old movies had. That, in turn, would be yet another major hit to a beloved francise that could be so much more, but is all too often held back by its creator.

If they make a remake of Harry Potter, it is going to be an absolute pile of nonsense. Hopefully, they cancel it.

My ideas: (Note: I didn´t watch the video) 1 Respecting source material. Stuff needs to look authentic and close to how books described things/stuff and characters need to be accurate to what they were represented as in other media. (NO race swapping or changing character sexes or changing their sexual preferences in any way.) 2 Not a direct copy of original stuff. If there has to be a remake, it needs to add things instead of replacing things that worked. New Jumanji movies were good because they made something new yet respected the past. 3 It does something movies couldn´t do. Like portraying/justifying Ron Weasley´s role in main trio. Or showcasing the growing magical abilities of the characters properly. - He defended Hermione in the third year from Snape in the book yet not in the movie. - If I recall correctly, Ron was naturally very good with potions in the books and was the one who realized why Voldemord wasn´t able to find the trio when they were on the run and looking for Horcruxes. (Trio didn´t use Voldermord´s other name, which was a name he cursed to reveal the location of the person who uttered it.)

1) Put everything from the book in it (including all the house's elves, the entire Voldemort's and Harry's parents story with ACTUAL scenes and not poorly done flashbacks, Saint Mungo's hospital in book 5...) 2) Younger adults 3) A good casting i.e. Lilly that ACTUALLY has the SAME eyes as her son 4) Good directors ! Because the young actors weren't awful in the films, the directors Newell and Yates weren't great at directing them

I thought they were just making a series on the books, not remaking the movies.
