If you want something right, you have to do it yourself. I was also thinking of recreating this level but I was stump several times, but leave it to you to do it in excellent fashion. Now if only this was a real level :)

There is no definitive answer to what the true hardest 2D Mario course is. It depends on the player's level of skill.

I’m only four sub-levels in and I’m already understanding why it’s impossible. It’d require the Propellor Mushroom, the Frog Suit and the SMB2 Mushroom.

Yes unless Nintendo allowed multiple game styles within a level this is quite literally impossible and thats only one of many factors cause even if we did have the ability to put multiple game styles within a level, the max would be two taking into account the sub world limit

They’d also have to somehow incorporate 10 different sub-levels in one level too. I doubt they would though. Very few official Mario levels are 10 sub-levels are that big.

This level is nothing compared to the Impossible Pack from New Super Mario Bros 2 (yes ik it's technically 3 levels but you must beat them in all in 1 attempt)

Impossible Pack still harder, specially in the normal game, where you must complete the 3 levels in one run to win. In Gold Edition, dying just takes you to the next level.

oh nonono. I probably spent an hour getting the footage for each section. Some of them like the vine grappling section were really hard and made me realize that my controller had input delay 😭 but it was worth it!

I haven’t played any 2D mario games aside from wonder and the first 3. The final final test was my first experience to a difficult-ish level, and it wasn’t much of a haste for me ngl. I doubt if it’s the hardest, I’ve heard some people say tubular from smb world is harder. Good recreation though

It seems peoples experience with this level varied widely depending on their skill level. For me personally it took about 100 lives or so which was never the case for any other 2D Mario level (other than MM2 ofc) so I just kinda locked it in as the hardest. But based off yours and some other comments there are a lot of other hard 2D Mario levels like this one that I just never thought of. One of those moments where I should've done the research lol. Im glad you liked the recreation though ❤️

How did you reach the conclusion that this was the hardest 2D Mario level? Nothing about this looked more difficult than Tubular from Super Mario World, Poochi Ain't Stupid from Super Mario World 2, or some of the castles from Lost Levels.

Isn't Tubular the one with the P-Balloon? It's honestly not that hard especially with how short it is. Poochy Ain't Stupid and a lot of other Yoshi Island extra/bonus stages you have a point in, but in the topics of 2D Mario, YI is excluded as its own sub-series, same with Wario Land (despite SML3 being the first Wario Land).
