Caleb! Totally blown away (but not surprised) that they want you in their corner. Go Brooklyn Tweed! That hat is to die for as well as their Unisex sweater patterns. How awesome. BTW… erm…how are we going to celebrate getting to 30K now ?.?!!! . Lol.👏👏👏👏💐🥰🍾🥂 best wishes to you and Brian.

Belated congratulations, Caleb! I love the look of the Fehling sweater, though it's still too advanced for me. I've only been knitting for a year and am about to start on my first sweater. When I looked at the pattern on the Brooklyn Tweed website, I was very sad to find that the inclusive sizing unfortunately doesn't include petite sizing. As I'm petite in a country where people are really big, I have trouble finding clothes for adults that fit. This was part of the reason I started knitting. So it's frustrating to find that I will also have to learn how to size down a lot of knitting patterns. Luckily I found out about Tin Can Knits from one of your other videos, so I'll be able to start with something that does come in my size!

These kind of videos are great because as a new knitter I hate having zero information about yarn, buying it, then finding out I hate it or it has properties I don’t like. So learning about your experience with different yarns is really helpful! Honestly though, you make videos and I watch them! It doesn’t matter the tile or how long it is. You are one of those people I just enjoy watching! Keep up the great work!

Informative video! I also just finished reading your About section on your blog, I didn't realize you were also a lawyer. I graduated from law school 10 years ago and I feel ready to call it quits. I agree pursuing creative projects is a lot more satisfying. I knit and I'm also a beekeeper, which takes up to lot of mental space, but I love it. Quitting my day job isn't really in the cards, but I've pulled back from work during the pandemic to focus more on what gives me joy. Keep on trucking!

Thanks! I was ready to call it quits DURING law school, so I got out as soon as I could. It’s great that you have creative outlets that help. I didn’t at the time and I think it would have helped so much. I hope you keep making time for things that bring you joy 💚

@@DrowninginYarn I know the feeling, my body was ready to quit during law school before I was, I kept getting sick for no reason, and developed nephrotic syndrome, but I didn't think to make the connection to stress...plus I'm stubborn. To cope, I just kept reading Harry Potter over and over and over again.

Great info. Maybe the word u were looking for is 'defined.' I love your yarn hints, tips and explanations. You are a great teacher and far ahead of mainstream knitters than your calm way if teaching is instructive and conducive at the same time. Congrats, Caleb! I've only been knitting for less than a year, and it was from listening to some of your previous vids that I started looking at Brooklyn Tweed patterns and yarns. I realized after watching that I already had several Brooklyn Tweed patterns favorited on Ravelry! Every time they come out with new patterns, I feel like I could spend the rest of my life knitting their patterns. (Love other designers as well, but seriously... there are SO many BT patterns I want to make. Currently knitting a Saddler sweater in Shelter from the last pattern collection!) Looking forward to the blog post!

I have one sleeve left on a cardigan I’m knitting using Quarry in Obsidian. I learned the hard way that I can’t pull too tightly when using it (I’m a tight knitter) 😆 And I haven’t tried Tones yet. Eventually I want to try all their yarns. I made a hat when I first discovered them, but I can’t remember which yarn it was offhand. I just know that I’m in love with the two I’ve used!!

Question: I'm starting the Shield pattern using the shelter yarn and wonder if you can share your experience with meeting gauge. Does the Brooklyn Tweed Shelter shrink or stretch during wet blocking? I have been struggling to meet the gauge using this yarn. Recommendation is US size 7; Even using size 5, it's not quite getting there. So I'm wondering if it will shrink that thus make gauge once blocked.

Good point… I wasn’t compensated to talk about yarn at all. I was compensated for writing a piece for the collaboration. But the rest is just my honest thoughts in general. My yarn reviews are more in-depth (I’d like to think) than this video where I’m just kinda sharing about a yarn I’m loving.
