WOW, so here is the Lost Footage of your trip back home to Australia 🇦🇺 use to love going there for A week at a time, but well south of there, Victoria, Melbourne in fact..!! You are right, that area highly resembles the Gulf coast area of the “Big Bend” from Apalatchacola to about the Crystal River area of Florida.. We love to drive our 23 year old Jeep on those kind of roads 11:00 you are on... What size was that surfboard 🏄 you rented🤷🏻♂️ looks like about a 8.6’ board😎👍🤷🏻♂️

Just thought you might like to know. The highest tides in the world are here in the Bay Of Fundy in Canada. The Bay Of Fundy runs between Nova Scotia and New Bruswick. Tides just off Digby can go as high as 45 feet and at the head of the bay in the New Minas Basin they can reach 53 feet. Keep up the great videos! Andrew from Nova Scotia.

The Bristol Channel in the UK also has very high tides. The highest annual tides in Moreton Bay are around 2.7 metre which is much higher than the ocean side of Stradie. Cheers

Good AU vid. Loved it! Told y'all I got to do Brisbane for a year n half, but I did travel north and south getting into things. Gold Coast was awesome!!! Hit it right and did some fanatic whale watching! Saw only a few but one jumped up out of the water right next the boat turned and landed on it's back. Massive to say the least!!! Gold Coast! A+!!! 👍👍👍

Everything in Australia is poisonous or somehow otherwise deadly; Aussies just plunge into random puddles for paddles. 😆 Skippy the Kangaroo! That was a staple for us Americans, too! Along with Flipper the dolphin and Daktari, featuring Clarence the Cross-Eyed Lion. Throw in Lassie and Rin-Tin-Tin and half my childhood TV watching featured animals from all over the world. That’s why I so enjoyed visiting Australia and South Africa.

@docholliday31504 жыл бұрын
Very close on the pronunciation. "Apalachicola" comes from the Apalachicola tribe and is a combination of the Hitchiti words apalahchi, meaning "on the other side", and okli, meaning "people". In original reference to the settlement and the subgroup within the Seminole tribe, it probably meant "people on the other side of the river". From wikipedia. That is a pretty harsh area in which to camp. I assume during cooler weather. Headed there next month. Virus permitting. doc
@johnlampe32584 жыл бұрын
Yes, not "Ala-patchy-cola' but 'Appa-latchi-cola'.
@JeffLatimer4 жыл бұрын
8:04 - Just made the same comment before I read all these, so I decided to post here instead. A little more phoneitic spelling is App-ah-lach-EE-cola. The Appalachee Native American tribe was for this area and that is what the National Forest and then town are named for. marinelab.fsu.edu/marine-ops/apalachee/history-of-the-apalachee-tribe/ North FL is a beautiful area and if you ever get the chance to visit again, you should. The area is often called “The Forgotten Coast” of Florida, it is about as “Old Florida” as you will be able to find these days. Love your channel. Keep up the good work! 😃
