If I could only visit one state in the USA, I guess it would have to be California. A very obvious and boring answer, but for good reason, I suppose. It just is the state with the most "typical American" stuff crammed in, from an outsider's perspective. I dream of a long road trip vacation all over the USA though and would love to visit places you rarely see in movies and other media. Through watching a lot of "dashcam" and "scenic drive" videos on KZbin, I have seen many beautiful places I didn't know of before, like the endless, undulating grain fields of Washington. They look like a golden ocean and I never knew they existed, because no movie or TV series or documentary I ever saw was filmed there. You know, stuff like that. Merry Christmas.

I think the Bratwurst with a slice of bread is more what Germans would have at home while a roll is just more practical as to-go fast food.

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to both of you. My favorite Xmas market is Christkindlmarkt in Nürnberg and Heinzels Wintermärchen at the Altermarkt in Cologne with an ice skating ring, it's magical. I have been to about 20 US states and my favorite one is California.

I really like the idea of visiting christmas markets all over Europe! Awesom! Here's a "secret" tip: The christmas market in Pürgg, Austria. Pürgg is a small, absolutely stunning village in the Austriam Alps and the market isn't really outside, but in the houses of the people who live there. My personal #1. Sadly this year it was cancelled due to the unspecific virus of unknown origin …

AS the Basel Christmasmarket is one of the few existing this year it's not too difficult to become number one. But I go there every year, as I work in Basel. And I really like it. This year even more, as it was less crowded. And you are right, the stand are offering very unique this GS that you won't find in any other Christmas markets, as the sell a lot of regional things. In fact the main place is on the Barfüsserplatz, the one on the Münsterplatz just was added a couple of years ago. But I like it better too, the Münsterplatz is such a lovely square and it was very rarely used in former times. My absolute favourite is very untypically swiss: the Reibekuchen! If I could visit one single state in the US it would be Rhode Island, as I have a friend living there, but of course there are many places I'd like to see, like N.y. Boston, Chicago, the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, the Rockies, theGreat Makes, the Mississippi - just all the places I know from literature.

That was so nice that you plugged those other KZbinrs. I had been watching Feli first back when she was German Girl in America and then she did a co-lab with NALF as they are similar as young people who have moved to each other’s country. The first time I saw you guys you had done a co-lab with Deanna and Phil & I came to love you guys (although it wasn’t love at 1st sight but you guys did win my heart as you guys are sooo nice - Deanna & Phil not so much, although occasionally I will watch something of theirs).

Basel itsself is both a quaint town in the old town section, but also a very modern town in the industry section. The Swiss make some really awesome food but Switzerland is daaaang expensive. So you'd better come prepared for roughly double the price for any food compared to Germany. Which state would I visit? Well, as I have relatives in California and have already been there multiple times so I'd rather go for something more northern. Probably Washington, and there specifically Seattle. Other states I've already been to were Oregon, Arizona, and Nevada.

Hopefully you can/could return back to Germany without mandatory quarantine! 🙂 In the U.S., I'd visit three states: 1. Idaho. Due to its wilderness, park, geology, and its similar climate. 2. Oklahoma. Due to its tornado alley, Indian territory, and climate. 3. Alaska. Due to its wilderness, forests, and climate. Maybe, North Dakota would be the fourth one, due to its lonelyness and population density.

Merry Christmas. Hej can you guys in 2022 give us an insight on mustard? Yeah, weird question, but hear me out: whenever friends from the US come over and buy the cheapest (like 1€) mustard at Aldi or sth. they act all suprised by the difference in taste/quality/price. Are they on to sth?

No matter on what occasion, I can't bring myself to pay more than 2,5 euros for any food to go, may it be Bratwurst or Fischbrötchen or Mettbrötchen and the like. And that's already twice as much as I would have paid before the euro was introduced. My salary hasn't kept up with this inflation of prices, not even halfway.

I really would love to see the list you looked at, so far I only found Cologne as number 1 followed by Salzburg (for 2021), Nuremberg in another list, Talinn in another one, no list with Basel. As for US states, there would be a hard choice between Indiana (people I know and would want to visit live there), Maine (if I had enough money to eat lobster at least once a day) and Texas (for the BBQ and to try Whataburger).

The best Christmas Market for me is Strasbourg. The entire city transforms in magic during Christmas. But after all: Christmas markets are Christmas markets. You go there to have some fun and alcohol - that's it. If I had to visit ONE state I would love to go to Georgia. (I have been to many states before but Georgia seems interesting)

Loved Strassburg but went in summer (so no Christmas market & didn’t get to go into the cathedral - it wasn’t open yet when I went to visit that section, the outside is massive but they were renovating as well). I been to Atlanta and it seemed mostly just sprawl with tons of traffic and taking forever to get from one end to the other also went to Stone Mountain and didn’t love that they were honoring the leaders of the Confederacy). I would like to go to Savanna though as it is supposed to be very nice.

A classic blunder for fondue-eaters: Never put the fondue-fork in the mouth, no matter what fondue, first for obvious hygiene double-dipping reasons (Costanza!) and second because you'll burn your lower lip.
