How do we contact Sparsh Jain? I am considering the UC system but I am told like most state colleges these are huge campuses with big class sizes so there is less 1-1 interaction with professors. How different a profile (from a profile that gets you into Berkeley) do you need for colleges like Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Vanderbilt, WUSTL, Rice, Duke etc where class sizes are supposed to be smaller? Ok Cornell is not really smaller and can also have a few large classes but overall the number of large classes are fewer than state colleges (GT, UM, UIUC, UCLA, UCSB, UCB etc). Then you also have the choice of some really small LACs like Pomona, Harvey Mudd, Swarthmore, Williams, Amherst, Bowdoin, Carleton etc. where a UG will get a lot more attention / hand holding.

you can get admission with 3 years of bachelor...but to some limited number of universities and also to the courses...you need to research about the universities which accept 3 years undergrad. google the list and go through the department of each universities for respective courses....but 1 year of diploma will provide you lot more options..think and decide by doing thorough research.

@@JohnDoe-kj2cs what I know about Harnoor that he had opted for joint degree..which cuts of 1 year and you get to complete 2 degrees in 5 years. 3 for ug and 2 for pg. same case like we have in India at some universities.. and about you doing 3 year degree and diploma alongside....I am not sure..and also dont know much about if we can do that...I think it won't make eligible for 16years still. so its better to go for 1 more year and prepare and do well with whatever your field is...and its not a waste..you can get yours scores ready and also can get internships and so many other things to strengthen your profile. guess that might help you.

I think if we all top universities focus on extra curricular activities then why education system is stuck with old model...why can't academic part get reduced and more focus on extra curricular so students can enjoy education and are not burdened with doing multiple things at a time , getting confused and depressed... even if you pass out with all kind of load still people will not be happy or content due to rat race so what kind of life are we actually living... stressed out mind, broken relationship, etc..why are we made to think that living in pressure, to compete all the time and sustaining on the top that means we are successful...and that is real world...even this so called real world is actually man made created world

Extracurricular activities doesn't matters a lot , the thing that matters is your dedication to your subject . There are many Indian students who got selected without any extra activities .

Only the top ranking universities like Harvard ,Stanford , n Berkeley need good extracurricular activities. Most of the other colleges consider academic excellence. So score 90 or 95 pc above in boards. Score above 1300 in SAT one, above 7 in IELETS. And u can make to a good US college. Good luck!
