The astronomical clock is not only about the puppets. The thing is that it shows so much information most people are not aware of. Not only time, but also date, season, Saints name day, position of Sun and Moon in the sky, Zodiac etc. I think Honest Guide did a cool video about the details. Its all mechanical, since 600 years ago. If you dont know, i understand you are disappointed.

I agree a hundred percent! Plus it is about one of the oldest, if not the 1st ever clock invented functioning with this mechanism! Nomatter how many days you visit, 3 or 30, making a small search of facts, make all the difference in understanding and appreciating its value more .😉😉 EUROPE is all about ARCHIRECTURAL, cultural, HISTORICAL GEMS, hard to be missed .really! ( hence all those millions that visit from other continents ). But yet again, i am just a european citizen, what do i know about it? 😉😉😉

Hi which side do you recommend staying buda or pest. Im aware buda seems quieter i just dont fancy hour long walkes to places. Any idea re recommendations for air bnb places. Love your videos and I guess will be looking out re the so called 6 dollar roll😂 Any help appreciated 👍

I'd recommend the Pest side. Buda is beautiful but you'll definitely have those loonnngg walks from there haha. It's hard to go wrong on the Pest side cause most things will be within a 15 - 20 minute walk. I know this probably doesn't seem as helpful but I'd stay probably try to focus on the most affordable option on the Pest side and save the rest of my money for fun around the city :) The Jewish Quarter has a really neat culture and will skew a bit younger. Anything in district 5 will give you more central access but will be a bit pricier. Hope all that helps!

I fell in love with that city. i am Slovak so for me it takes 4hours of train or a car driving to get there. But it is worth. Little bit expensive but nevermind. Really bueatiful city. Mixture of modern pro-western politically mindset (multicultural cosmopolitan) combined with medieval architecture.

the clock is re done, and as for prices, you get high prices in the old town square or wenceslas. walk away it gets cheaper

Does not chang the fact that there is nothing traditional about them in the Czech part of the former Austro-Hungarian empire. No one knew what it was like 10-15 years ago.

@@KarlosTheMighty And Moravia is part of what? Skalica is a "Záhorie" region which is almost identical to the Moravian region (especially Slovácko). Yes, if you do not consider Moravia to be part of the Czech Republic, then it is not your dish.

@@BELBOG666 that is extremely regional thing. Most of Moravia did not know what it is before it appeared at every Christmas market. Plus these disputes where it came from are also funny. Most sources claim it is originally Romanian anyways. Moravian or not it is nowhere near to traditional in the center of Bohemia. No one makes it at home in like 95% of the country and the same amount of people did not know it existed 10-15 years ago. Having it at every corner claiming it is traditional while basically no one in Prague eat it is a tourist trap. Nothing more, nothing less.

If U want some really Czech food go for (local) beer (Pilsner, Gambrinus, Kozel, Radegast, Budvar etc.) and any kind of pork (knucle, ribs, prague ham), roasted duck (with cabbage and dumplings) or svíčková (slice of roasted beef with vegetable sauce and dumplings).

On the other hand we must point out that neighbouring countries naturally have culinary overlap (look at the Mediterranean or Middle East) but if two makes the same the result is not always same - compare czech goulash (originaly hungarian food) with hungarian one and compare czech potato pancakes with german ones - in both cases U get different meals. ;)

How many days do you think it's enough to stay in Prague ?

Hmm, such a tough one to answer because it depends how much you want to see and at what pace. I think 2 days would be enough to see the most popular places and give you a feel for the city. If you have the time/money I'd recommend 4-5 days so you can really take your time and experience the culture. Hope you have a great trip!

I'm leaving Prague tomorrow for home this was my experience Dislikes *Having to pay to have a pee EVERYWHERE you go *Homeless people always begging for money not trying to be insensitive but it's hard to tell these days who's a drug addict and who's not *Drivers having the habit of trying to run you over almost when it's a green man *And most annoyingly of all having to cross the road every two minutes bloody hell 😆😆 it's a headache *My likes about Prague most people have been friendly and helpful whenever I have needed directions, one man even came up to me and helped me out when I was struggling I didn't even have to ask *Lots of drivers give way to pedestrians which is great *Food is cheap which is convenient *City is gorgeous I feel like I'm in a Disney princess movie at times 😆😆 *It's fairly easy to get around using the public transport system even for those who don't have much experience doing that abroad *People mind their own business and leave you alone *Saw some otters or something in the river which was cool

Amazing city.. lots to see! Tourists didnt bother me as I was one myself. Go and see the churches.. absolutely beautiful architecture! Two things that bugged me on this trip. Czech's are rude.. they genuinely go out of their way to be rude, i've been all over the world.. and by far Czechs are the rudest. When you walk around there is a distinct waft of urine that hangs in the air.. alot of men seem to use the streets as a latrine.. thought this was a modern city.. not the slums of india. Toilets are in short supply but you can easily find one. Perhaps they're incontinent?

There are so many wonderful people as well and hoping you get to see that side of things during your next visit. Nah ... it is still super cheap compared to any big tourist hit in western europe or the US. You will spend much much more in London for instance. Plus the Old town square ham is a famous tourist trap. Definitely not a good example of Prague prices in honest restaurants.

Sorry to hear that. I'd recommend exploring outside of the city center. We stayed up in Praha 6 and it had a completely different feel. Hope you're able to make the most of the rest of your trip :)

As local, one thing I hate most about the Prague (and not just Prague, but the whole Czech Republic) is local people, not tourists. Most people here are realy grumpy, unfriendly and just geniuenly unpleasant to be around or talk to. You can not expect someone on the street to help you in any way, even if you just ask for the directions, in most pubs and restaurants, if you are not frequent visitor (''štamgast''), they are just rude and you can't really expect good service or ''vibe'' form other visitors. You can not trust anyone, not even co-workers, or long time friends most of the time, everybody is just waiting for the oportunity to screw you over. Also, most people here are what I would call ''oportunity thiefs'', If there is an oportunity to steal something even remotely valuable, belive me, 90% of the peolpe will take it. I could go on, but I belive you get my point.
