The was great DL!! I got my Live last fall, getting back into the MPC gang!! I've used the Live basically Standalone mode. I've never used the software. This has shown me a lot!! I really appreciate it!! I've been wanting to get my beats out with acapellas on them, maybe even doing remixes with my beats!! I basically would just pull in a couple mp3's, one the beat, the other, the acapella. I've been looking for a post like this. Its been very helpful!! Zaytoven been using the MPC software for years. Granted he has all kinds of other toys hooked up to his system to, but he's been using the MPC software to construct his beats since the beginning of I'm not mistaken. I was about the purchase the FL signature edition before I came across the MPC studio black. After doing some digging and realizing it came with a full daw that does almost everything I need it to, not a stripped down version like some companies do with their products, I was sold. Appreciate what the FL demo has done for me over the past year in regards of getting me back into making music, but I just think the MPC studio black bundled with the DAW is a better deal. Not only that but once I own the software I can always upgrade the hardware by buying one used and I don't have to worry about mapping all the controls. I may still buy the producer edition of FL eventually, but for now I want to focus on learning the world of the MPC and its included software.

This is the only DAW I use with plugins from uad ,waves,sound toys ,ik media and the great effects that comes with the daw.All you need is a MPC X and microphone to make songs that sound pro.

Thank you so much, you did an excellent job of covering the way the software works. You also covered some BIG questions about recording in general. I have the MPC beats software that (they claim) works the same way but I don't have as many audio tracks. This puts me in a position to where I can work with it and also has nudged me a lil closer to spending the money for an MPC OR MPD controller. You also gave a lot of insight into the Pro Tools realm (which is out of my price range) but now I'm not afraid of it. The only question I have now is how well the Q-links and transports will work if I get the MPD 32 controller. I like it because it just looks like the OLD BEAST from back in the day (a mental thing ?), Any way I thank you again and I did Subscribe.

Cool video. One issue with MPC Software is that it does not do plugin delay compensation, so, with some plugins the resulting audio drifts over time. For a long beat it shows. Lack of groups and only 8 submixes is sometimes a problem. Anyway, I am using MPC Software as much as I can but still serious annoyances, like no way to automate certain things like master output volumes. I hope Akai will fix issues over time. Until they do, I am afraid I have to use Studio One for finishing things.

The MPC "DAW" is solid aside from a few software glitches. The one thing blocking broader adoption is the fact that the overall workflow is considered "foreign" by users of other DAWs today, because MPC software is tied to the legacy Akai workflow which is a bit different.

Deactivate the license for the old PC first. You can only have the license for two computers at a time. I had the same issue as well.
