What You Must Know About The Different Units Of DEVGRU
There is no question that DEVGRU, just like Delta Force, is one of the most elusive, secretive and most talked about units in the world. As a part of JSOC, it operates within the most hostile environments, capturing high value targets and carrying out the most dangerous missions. Within this elusive unit, there is a whole hierarchy, structure and organization with different units that most people do not know about. We will cover all the different squadrons within Seal Team Six and discuss their history, missions and training.

Many people don't know this, but 5 members of Gold Squadron were a part of the Black Hawk Down incident. Four SEALs rode in a completely open Humvee with the initial convoy. They were all shot during the firefight. Howard Wasdin, who died in a plane crash not long ago, was one of the men in the Humvee.

I’m a 22 year old woman and I’m training to become a U.S. Navy SEAL. I’m a civilian and I want to go enlisted. I know five other women that are training for BUD/S, one of them is in BUD/S Prep right now. What advice would you give for women that want to be SEALs? How does the SEAL community feel about women joining them? Do you think women should be allowed to become Navy SEALs? Most female SEAL candidates struggle with carrying the boats and logs, doing pull ups, having grip strength and completing the “Dirty Name” on the obstacle course. Also, a lot of female SEAL candidates break their legs or develop stress fractures. Women have smaller and thinner bones than men.

Reputation is something SF should treasure. Not long after the Iranian Embassy siege in London, a plane was hijacked and landed at a London airport, when the hijacker’s learned from the news that the SAS had been seen arriving, they immediately surrendered without injury to people or property, the reputation of SF has probably saved many lives we’ll never know about.

Is there anything that the four assault squadrons do uniquely? Meaning-does one assault squadron have a unique speciality? in one manner of assault operations? Like maybe Red squadron would be more direct action and very straightforward raid oriented, maybe Blue squadron would specialize in multiple attacks on one operation, and maybe Gold squadron would be utilized to support other squadrons. This would make sense because then each squadron would have a speciality and be more efficient or oriented to complete a certain operation. Or are they really just all the same pretty much, same text different font type of thing. Same Squadron different patch? I just have a hard time believing there isn’t more that separates the squadrons besides just their lore and what they represent, they have to each have their own unique skill set, right?

That's where it gets a little vague. They do say that once you complete green team, you'll be assigned to one of the teams based on different characteristics and capabilities. But what those exactly are is not clear to me. Also they 'must' have a distinction, otherwise why would they make 4 assault squadrons? Unfortunately I don't have a conclusive answer.

@@the-spy-network Thank you for the reply brother. You are exactly right, “characteristics and capabilities” certainly implies a distinctive personality between the squadrons.
