Hi All....I'm back! It's been a tough year for me, I battled cancer and a heart condition...but I'm doing better and ready to start my tutorials up again! I recently started playing with alcohol inks on Yupo paper. I've been asked to share some of the Basics of what you need to play and I thought I'd do a little tutorial as well. Hope you all enjoy!
Products used in this Video:
~Pipettes (plastic eye-droppers) --- amzn.to/2FcFrfC (Amazon)
~Alcohol Ink (I used only one color - Eggplant by Ranger)
in Canada you can find them at Michaels or order online from stores like Shades of Clay shadesofclay.com/
In USA you can find onliine at www.scrapbook....
~Jaquard Pinata Alcohol Ink - I used Brass color....I bought mine at Shades of Clay shadesofclay.com/
~ Yupo Paper
shrsl.com/1i1ir
....I got mine here in Canada from Shades of Clay shadesofclay.com/
In USA you can find it at Scrapbook.com (same link as above)
....you can also check Amazon
~ Isopropyl Alcohol ...I used 99 percent but 91 percent works as well ....You can find it at Walmart or Local Drug Store
~ Pipettes (or eye dropper) I got a large pack off of Amazon but if you're in Canada you can find them at Shades of Clay as well
~ For this project I used a blow dryer on cool setting.
You can find me on Instagram under 'Gabrielle Pollacco' or 'Gabrielleshutterbug'
Facebook under Gabrielle Pollacco
My Blog is Such a Pretty Mess - gabriellepollac...
Thanks so much for all the kind comments and support, I try to read them all and respond to questions asked

This has been, hands down, the best tutorial I have ever seen. I’m astounded that you only used one colour (plus the gold) to achieve this amazing piece of art! You’ve inspired me to give that ethereal look another try. Thank you so, so much🥰...🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

I just recently bought alcohol ink and a small pack of yupo paper. I wasn't aware you had to add isopropyl alcohol over the ink. No wonder it didn't spread around as much. I'm glad I came across your tutorial. This came out so beautiful!

So very glad to hear you are on the mend and back making art. There are other companies coming out with alchohol inks now so we are going to get more of a choice. There is a video that shows some of the new brands but I can't remember what it was called. I'm sure you could find it if you youtube search "comparing alcohol ink brands." Glad you're back.

The whole time, all I could hear was Brandon Flowers in my head - " I got soul, but I'm not a soldier ". I appreciate the video. I have all this stuff and have been playing around with it to see what kind of results I can get. I'm really going to try to work out a way of using them to create something more representational, than abstract. In Canada, Currys sells all this stuff - much cheaper than Michaels. I think Above Ground also carries them. Thanks.

Absolutely gorgeous!!! I don't have pipettes. My alcohol is around 70%. I hope I can get the same results. I checked Amazon and they sold the higher percentage @ 90+ %, but in huge containers. I have a blow heat brush recommended by another artist like yourself. She puts her setting on cool. The brush, of course, is removed. I am so happy you did this step by step.
