I will share some of the lesser known things about traveling to Japan. The Japanese people are so kind and understanding so don't feel like you will upset them but also keep in mind that you are representing yourself and your country when you travel there.

In the Kansai area (Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, etc.) people stand on the right side of the escalator. Everywhere else, people usually stand on the left side of the escalator.
