Bonus tip - I learned while staying at Dolphin that both Swan and Dolphin offer DVC AND AAA food discounts - even at quick service. I got a made-to-order pizza at Fuel with my AAA card for less than $12. It was easily shared by two people and likely could have been shared by three. Show your card and save! Also there is a rewards-type program available when dining at the sit down restaurants. Ask for a card so you can get (small) rewards if you are going to eat there anyways.

Stayed at the dolphin. We circumnavigated the bus situation by taking the bus from Boadwalk Inn directly to the MK. Otherwise, the hotel was in a perfect location.

We did the same on our MK day. The AK bus actually drops off at a better spot than any other resort!

Same- MK took the bus from Boardwalk. DAK was just as easy to take swan shuttle. Also loved being able to have dinner every night at a different Cresent lake hotel.

Fun story - my only experience with the Swan and Dolphin was in 2007 when I was interviewing with Johnson and Johnson and they decided to hold their final round interviews for all of their college roles globally at the Swan and Dolphin. They turned hotel rooms into interview rooms (they removed the beds - poor housekeeping staff) and people were lined up in the hotel room hallways waiting for their interview. Totally surreal. There were probably a lot of reasons why I didn't get a job there, but I blame the fact that I had perfect view of Spaceship Earth from my seat facing the interviewers and I couldn't stop looking at it.

The bus situation is a non-issue. When leaving MK, AK, or Disney Springs we would just look for any of the Disney hotel buses on Crescent Lake since all of them are close to Swan/Dolphin. The Swan/Dolphin bus to AK drops off in a nice location. I recommend taking that to AK. However, for MK and Disney Springs I would recommend walking to a neighbor resort for the Disney bus. Walking to the neighbor resort in the morning for the MK bus is still a shorter walk than the walk to the bus stop from some value resort rooms. We loved staying near Epcot for all of the food choices.

Pro tip: I stayed at dolphin and walked to both Epcot and Hollywood studios on different days. Walking distance to Epcot from swan/dolphin is about 20/25 minutes if you walk at a medium pace and I’d say add about 5-7 minutes of additional walking if you’re going to Hollywood studios. I’d recommend taking Disney’s Friendship Boats if possible though, as it is waaaaay more relaxing and scenic riding on the boat to the theme park. But if the boat is not coming to the swan/dolphin dock anytime soon and you are pressed for time, walking to the theme park will be a nice option 😁

Swolfin is a total DisHack. I know that normal rates are in the 280+ range, but...I have yet to pay over $239 at the Swan. The price is frequently on par with the value-tier resorts for an amazing experience. Also, they honor AP's for just about everything (and there's a special discount code to enter when making a reservation, if you have an AP). Swan is my "favorite" resort on property. Technically, the Beach Club is my favorite, but it's 3x the price, so it's hard to list it as my favorite.

The Swan is my ABSOLUTE favorite place to stay, above any Disney hotel. I just walk to Boardwalk to hop on the bus or take Minnie van.

We love Swan and Dolphin! we've been Marriot rewards members for years so we like to either gain points just by staying there or use points to save on the price! We also like to do split stays where we stay here then transfer to one of the Disney owned hotels! love the proximity to DHS and Epcot! our favorite parks!

Stop giving away Swan secrets LOL JK. Only place we will stay when going to Disney. Sometimes the rates can be the same as Disney Value Hotels by using discounts with AAA, Senior Discounts, and Company Corporate Codes. Plus rates can drop from when you book and you can call and get the lower rate up! It's all about the location for us. The convivence of a boat ride or walk to Epcot & HS makes park hopping a must. Swan does have their own transportation and to AK it puts you just as close as Disney's, but for MK you can easily walk over to Boardwalk and jump on Disney's transportation to avoid the TTC. The pools are wonderful and plentiful, and with the Dolphin right across there are so many food options and activities right at your fingertips. IMO the "missing Disney feel" is worth it for all the other perks and the close vicinity to the other Disney Hotels so you can easily get your fix close by... and lets face it, you are at Disney....the "Disney feel" is everywhere. When I was younger, I avoided The Swan and Dolphin because they sounded so much less Disney/magical. But I gotta say, as two adults over 40 with no kids who are foodies and theme park fanatics, these two hotels were wonderful when we stayed for short visits in 2021 and 2022 respectively. I don't need my hotel to be constantly shoving Disney at me at every corner, and after spending all day in the parks (which we love!), I appreciated coming back to these more low-key hotels. Keeping this comment Swan-centric, Il Mulino was by far the best Italian food to be found in Disney. I am Italian-American from New York City, so I eat a lot of great Italian, and I went back to Il Mulino more than once because the food and service were both perfection (the pasta! the pounded veal dishes! Chef's kiss!). Java was delicious coffee, and I'd love to get to Kimono's on another trip! Location can't be beat if you're an Epcot fan, and we also loved the quiet walk over to Hollywood Studios. The only thing The Swan missed was a great lobby bar, but you have Phin's at The Dolphin right across the way, so you're good there too. It's a great hotel for Disney adults for sure.

I stay at Swan/Dolphin most of the time. Dolphin tends to be a tad cheaper than Swan. I have an upcoming trip the first week in April at Dolphin for $340 a night and that includes the resort fee (does not include parking) in a Deluxe Resort View room with a balcony. I used my AP rate but I often find their senior citizen discount is better. I've never had an issue with their buses. AK is going to actually get you a tad closer then the Disney buses do and they have a little shaded spot with benches to wait for the bus there. They tend to use the Mears buses so you have to fold your stroller up and put it under the bus, which a lot of people don't like. I have found BWI for less than Swan/Dolphin every once in awhile when Disney is running discounts with my AP but it's not very often. Hot take, I think the Fountain at Dolphin might be better then B&C at BC. There I said it.

Swan/Dolphin are my go to until I can afford to stay at the beach/yacht club. I don’t do the skyliner because it terrifies me and this is a great alternative. I am a walker and love boats. Tip: you can use transportation from the nearby Disney owned resorts. Also it is perfect for park hopping (yay anytime park hopping, I am a hopper). Plus I travel for work a bit and rewards point baby….

I've stayed at both. Beach Club is my favorite resort on property BUT Beach Club rooms are a little small Beach Club rooms are 3x the price Swan + Dolphin + Swan reserve have the best collection of restaurants on property. Period. I don't think I would choose Yacht/Beach/Boardwalk over the Swan if they were more expensive than Swan. The two things that Beach has are: * Stay in the Quiet Pool building, and it's a short walk to France for breakfast before hitting another park * Stay in the Quiet Pool building, and it's less than 15 minutes between EPCOT fireworks and hitting the pool. I wouldn't pay more for those.

This is my new go to thanks to full tours you did years ago since I didn't know about it. With an AP you can get it below 200 some days. Will say I did get stranded during a storm at HS because nothing was running. They gave incorrect info of which bus to take and it never showed up. Turns out just take the boardwalk look hotel bus if caught in that situation and they will add swan and dolphin stops.

So I've always been confused with this. I've stayed at Shades of Green multiple times before the pandemic and have gotten early entry as well as the disney transportation. It is a short walk to Polynesian where we'd board the monorail. Isn't it considered in the Disney bubble? I've always wanted to see a more in-depth look at the hotel in a video! I understand it's a Military hotel, so is that why it's pushed to the way side? Thought I'd ask since it's relevant and not necessarily owned by Disney like Swan and Dolphin.

I believe the walkway from Shades of Green to the Polynesian monorail stop is no longer available due to construction, so you have to ride buses.

AND, the causeway between Swan and Dolphin is lit with cool lights at night. AND the fountains on the causeway (Swan) side of Dolphin are really cool, especially when they're lit up at night.

Disney used to provide bus service between the parks and the Swan & Dolphin hotels. I guess not anymore. How cheap of them.

Yes, Marriott opted to stop paying for Disney transportation and use a less expensive service. It may be cheap of them but doesn't seem to have affected them that much.
