I have faithfully flossed, water flossed, and brushed daily, but sadly I had recession and 5 months ago the periodontist botched a gum graft. Now molar 30 is somewhat loose, and he tells me to go see an endodontist. I'm so disappointed in this dentist, I wanna call the board on him.
@anonymousf8406 Жыл бұрын
You should file with the board, or even get an attorney....it is his job to advise you on whats best for your oral health, and it's his job to do a professional level job when working on your teeth. You will never get back what you lost for the rest of your life......Let that sink in...and repeat it....for the rest of your life you have to feel with something that he did to you, and it will probably lead to a host of other problems down the road......your teeth and gums are not like a car that you can replace parts to factory new. He did what he did, and now has to pay for his mistake and decision....simple as that....if he can't do things correctly, he does not deserve to be in this field....you might wind up paying waaaaaayyyyyy more than you think because of his incompetence...remember you only have I think a year to file the complaint so don't procrastinate.

I had a unethical dentist take advantage of me when I was in my early 20s. I had a small chip on a front tooth tgat should have been fixed with minimally invasive bonding. I was talked into doing a crown and the crown was not custom, and absolutely placed horribly. Lacerated my gums to jam this non fitting hunk of crap into my mouth. This caused all kinds of problems and cost a freekin mint after all was said and done...and guess what...my smile will never be the same, and I will more than likely lose this tooth wayyyyy earlier than if I had only replaced bonding. Gum surgery, root canal, access, crown replacement.....and sooner or later an implant....yes his little decision probably will cost me about 15-20k over the course of my life...Also, I have been self conscious about my smile ever since, and terrified of dentists. I have always considered myself a good person, but I would love to kick that dentists teeth in. I hope that scumbag piece of shht experiences a horribly botched medical procedure that he is reminded of every day when he looks in the mirror. But he probably won't. No he will just go on with business as usual, preying on people who go to him for help...lol if I could go back I would have absolutely filed a complaint with the dental board, and tried to get an attorney for malpractice or pain and suffering or something. It was his job as a professional to look out for the patient, not look out for his pockets....and you should make him pay dearly for this.

I also don't smoke, or use alcohol or drugs, and I avoid all sweets, I watch my nutrition. Nevertheless, I do have peridontal disease, with receding gums, bone loss and gum pockets, I also developed a painful tooth abscess which had to be drained in the ER. I am currently taking Amoxicillin. Unfortunately, my dental insurance is very limited and doesn't cover beyond preventative and the very basics. I know that I probably need a scaling/ root planing - but I cannot afford that right now. What more can I do to heal my gums and save my teeth? I am also using Peridex mouthwash. Nice Video!!!Hygiene Hygiene Hygiene I am sure that your very nice teeth gets a professional cleaning very often perhaps every 20th day or 30th day. Cleaning by a dental hygienist is really the best way to ensure that bacteria filled plaque never builds up. You mentioned every 3rd or 4th month but lots of bad things happens in your mouth in 3 monhts not only bacteria that attack your gum tissue but also caries attacks on you enamel. The main component of plaque is more than 1000 different types of BACTERIA attacking the ENAMEL or GUM TISSUE 24/7. You brush to get rid of alive and moving BACTERIA sitting on your teeth. But, however good you are at brushing you can never do it 100%, there will always be areas with plaque left behind in between the molars -- flossing does not help much. The enamel plus dentin is only a few mm thick and the BACTERIA will reach the pulp and the blood vessels in a few weeks or months creating an infection called CARIES. Likewise, plaque sitting on the tooth close to the gum tissue is also full of hundreds of millions of BACTERIA which will transfer into the gum causing inflammation and bleeding called GINGIVITIS. BACTERIA in the gum tissue will then start moving in between the tooth and the gum towards the root of the tooth - pockets - causing PERIODONTITIS which results in total tooth loss. The ONLY way to stop tooth decease is regular visits to a dental HYGIENIST and get a thorough professional cleaning. If you do it every second month - 6 times per year - you will have a very good dental health. It will cost you around 500 dollars per year which is nothing compared with the astronomical costs of root canals, crowns and implants. Dentists and nurses have their teeth cleaned once a month and even once every 20th day. The BACTERIA are living creatures and WILL NOT GIVE UP UNTIL YOUR TEETH ARE ALL DESTROYED AND GONE and you will wear terrible dentures costing 10,000 dollars . Unfortunately, dentists are not always interested in people's healthy teeth and are not educating their patients! Good teeth health does not create demand for profitable dental care. Remember, ONE tooth implant can cost 4000 to 5000 US dollars. Bad teeth health costs about 150 Billions per year in the US and occupies many hundreds of thousand of dentists and nurses. Bad teeth is a very real problem and many people suffer a lot for no reason. People need to be educated about total tooth health.
@peggybowndentistry1791 Жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you for your comment. It sounds like you are very interested in dental health. I actually only get my teeth professionally cleaned every 6 months myself. And when you work at a dental office, it can actually be hard to get your cleaning done as you are the one doing all the work! lol Proper brushing and flossing is really the best defense but you are correct, hygiene therapy with a hygienist is essential to reach certain areas that your brush and floss cannot. Once damage starts to occur, it only gets harder to clean on your own which is when we move patient to every 3-4 months.

This is very strange because antibiotics are used against many other kinds of infection. So what's going on? Now it could be the case that for some reason bacteria in the microfilm cannot be destroyed by antibiotics, but in that case, why don't people say that? So WHAT ARE THE BACTERIA CALLED AND WHY CANT ANTIBIOTICS BE USED AGAINST THEM? It maybe just me, but I actually dislike the synthetically bleached teeth which Americans are so keen on. This lady is a case in point. I actually dislike the look of these magically white teeth. In the past, it was considered natural to have receeding gums and teeth fall out. It wasnt the end of the world. In primitive societies it wasnt such a big deal. Part of the problem is that people are living older and older ("getting long in the tooth" we say in English) and expect to be treated for everything.Everyone demands perfection and everyone demands perfect health. People forget they are going to die quite soon anyway. Sometimes I think they behave as though they are going to live for three hundred years. Well they aren't. Following on from this, there should be in all health programmes and that includes dental treatment, a very different view for a 20 year old a 40 year old a 70 year old. I mean if you tell a 20 year old, his teeth may fall out in 20 years, it is much more serious than telling a 70 year old his teeth may fall out in 20 years! Not making that clear is in my view dishonest. Flossing definitely makes sense, The reason is easy to understand. if gunge comes out from flossing, it must be doing something worthwhile.

I do agree. All those videos for oral health don't mention the age distinction. I am not telling periodontics is more pleasant once you get older, however it should be taken into consideration more as a standard if you are for example in your 60s than in your 20s.

Bingo, i think bacteria and the ph balance influenced by diet. I think our mouth NEEDS healthy bacteria from foods. I had gingivitis and it disappeared by eating Blue Cheese one night... That yellowing of the teeth now glistening white, no itchy gums, no pain. Strange innit? 🙃

If you had kept your office open along with everyone else as you have the unalienable right to do, then there would have been no problem. Because of you obsequious boot liking to the Rockefeller CDC joke, you should have been bankrupted.
