Hi Jordan, thanks for your video, great guide for someone looking to start . Can you make a video of measurements? How much oil needed for a certain amount of wax, and type of jar… I am looking to start at home just trying to get everything but by bit ❤

@@ck-sky-high8894 I can’t do a video on measurements unfortunately as it all depends on the wax, oil, wicks, jars and type of scent. That’s all down to the testing of each scent that unfortunately has to be tested individually. But I usually start at 10% oil to wax, if it’s too strong I then reduce slightly until I get it right ♥️

@@WinniesMenu-f3y What wicks really depends on the vessels and oils you are using. I use the TCR but you will have to test to find what suits you x

Thanks so much for this useful video :) ive seen online thay you need to register with local authority to trade - is this right? I have signed up to sell at my work in December and realised there are some things to do before then. Are there any specific things that need to be included on the label?

Depends what country you are in. In the UK you need to register as self employed or business when trading profit over £1000 in a year. You’ll need CLP labels on the bottom of the candle too - legal requirement including allergen info xx

@WILDRACECO thank you! I'm based in the UK. I got a bit confused as it said I needed to register with local authority as well as register as self employed, but can only find a form to fill out for selling food 😅 I don't think I'll make £1000 this tax year year, so will leave that part for now. But thanks for the info on allergens! How do you display them - on your box or website? Sorry for all the questions, feels a bit like a minefield but your video already helped with lots of qs

@ No worries at all! CLP must be displayed on the bottom of the candle, and should be accessible basically at ‘point of sale’. Should be displayed on website if possible but I know most people don’t as it’s quite hard to display xx

Hayes Parsons for me but I’m pretty sure they all do it. I know lots of other makers and we all use different companies. I’ve never bothered looking elsewhere as my quote has been the same for 3 years and seems reasonable 😁
