Depends on the region. We southerners don't eat nearly as much sweet things at breakfast as the north or west does. Traditionally, a southern breakfast is pretty much devoid of sweets.

This might be an unpopular opinion but if I had a child and they were upset and/or crying because their favorite food item wasn't on the menu anymore that's a good time to teach them to try new things and that they can't always get what they want You can always look up a recipe and try to make the discontinued item at home

Last April my wife and I were down in Vegas and went to IHOP and I ordered the chicken fried steak. I have had that in a lot of different restaurants around the west coast. When the server asked how it was I had to tell her it was the worsts that I had ever eaten. She offered to get me another one and I said don’t bother. I finished eating it because I have been nicknamed garbage guy for eating just about anything. She did cut my bill in half . Haven’t been back since.

My family always hated iHop. The only reason we have ever gone is because the commercials make their food look so good that we go. “It can’t be as bad as we remember.” The last time we went, my brother ended up in the bathroom throwing up after eating his pancakes

Weirdly enough, I’ve managed to lose weight with IHOP by eating one meal a day there while doing a daily weightlifting regimen + only choosing the high protein pancakes and extra egg options. Yes IHOP is high in calories, but because the establishment is a cheap but tasty source of protein and carbs + the calorie count is provided for every item, I used the IHOP menu to ensure that I have a 300-500 calorie deficit per day. So far I’ve dropped like 4% body fat and am starting to see abs. All because of a Damn pancake house lol

FUN FACTS!: The cost of a short stack of pancakes (3 pancakes total) is $5.63 at my local IHOP. The actual cost to the store to make that stack is only $0.10. Also the IHOP cinna-stack food items are absolutely ridiculously high in calories! An LTO menu item featuring the spread roughed up to 2400 calories for a full serving.

The quality of the regular pancakes at IHOP have really gone downhill recently. The last few times I went there the pancakes were nothing special, I felt like I could've made just as good quality pancakes using Bisquick. I mean they weren't bad, but when you go to a place known for their pancakes, you'd think they would make amazing pancakes, but they weren't. Denny's on the other hand have really stepped their game up, their regular pancakes are pretty bomb.

There is a whole lot of hype for just coffee-shop/diner food. But many remember going for (i.e.) chocolate chip pancakes with the grandparents. I lived in town that had an IHop, and both of my parents worked. On Mom’s days off, we got a home-cooked meal, but sometimes, it was 6pm, no one had eaten, and the kids still needed to bathe and go to bed. They offered a ham and cheese omelette with a short stack (2) of pancakes on the side. Sure, it was too much sodium, too much sugar, but no one had to stay up till 10pm washing dishes!

@allgoo19307 жыл бұрын
Rhiahl says: "IHOP/empty,.." "People will wait a long time in all kinds of weather to get in there..." == That's consumer psychology at work. People are more curious and being tempted to go in a restaurant other people go to. Empty restaurants are just don't look welcoming. I drive by IHOP restaurant every week and I can see the lot is empty all the time. I've been wondering how they make enough money to keep up the place. But at the same time, other locally owned restaurants keep changing the owner all the time because of the slow economy. It's not a good time for any type of restaurants or any type of business for that matter. It's just that in a slow economy, first thing the people cut down is the cost of eating out, so the restaurant industry gets the hit first.

I'm so tired of the me-first society we live in where kids and adults get anything handed to them for any reason. >_> And if she did have cancer or some horrible illness, then, yeah, totally deserved. If not, um, disappointment is a thing. Life isn't fair. Also, wish I could remember the pancakes I didn't order that they had on special once. They looked delicious. I wanna say maple pecan something. Again, disappointing, but I'll get over it.

"real maple syrup"...
@nobodyimportant24706 жыл бұрын
A lot of the maple syrup you find in stores and restaurants is maple flavored syrup. It is made by combining equal parts sugar and water(heat until dissolved) then artificial maple flavoring is added. Real maple syrup is made by draining the sap from sugar maple trees and then cooking it down into a syrup. If I am remembering correctly it takes about 10 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup and quite a bit of time.

I’m a server at IHOP been one for years I can say the batter is made fresh everyday and the pancakes are cooked by order they don’t pre make them some stores don’t do things right like when it comes to the pancakes there’s a special trick they use to make them fluffy if your Ihop isn’t doing it then their cooks and managers are being lazy most IHOP’s let you order off the senior menu or the kids menu regardless of your age if your waiter refused then you must have pissed them off because in reality no one cares how old you are it’s not the franchise that’s doing thing wrong it depends on the store because the managers are in charge of that as for the cinn-a-stack in South Carolina we don’t serve them neither in Texas some states still do others don’t i know at least in Texas and South Carolina we don’t even have the cinnamon French toast anymore I guess my point is don’t judge all IHOP’s over your experience with one and remember to always tip your server!! We don’t work for free 😊 2.13 an hour is hardly a paycheck

thank you for your comment. unfortunately sometimes people eat at different chain restaurants and have a bad experience at one, and instead of differentiating, distinguishing, possibly isolating the bad experience to one incident they generalize and blast every store in the chain assuming their all the same. their not, each one is different, depending on the store manager, staff, even the owner if it's a franchise. personally there are some subway" sandwich shoppes in the chain of stores where I live that are horrible hence I will not patronage and never go to again, yet there are others that are wonderful and the manager and staff treat me great and make great sandwiches. the same with the chain of "lowe's" stores, there is one that go to all the time for over 10 years, and gladly boast of how well they treat not only me, but other customers I've seen shop there, whether it's some questions, assistance, or help with a specific problem. this "lowe's" store is consistently great, the managers and staff, are thoughtful, kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. yet there is another "lowe's" store that had to go to one time only because my regular "lowe's" store didn't have the item needed in stock. sadly, this other "lowe's" store, was vastly different, the manager was rude, and abrupt, and the other 2 employees I encountered were similarly rude, indifferent, and could care less if I found what needed or not. hence sadly, unfortunately, will not go back to this "lowe's" store location again. in conclusion, not all "subways", "lowe's", and other chain stores are the same, each one is unique, and as different as the franchise owners, managers, and staff that work there. curious though, you only make $2.13 an hour, why, is this unique to "ihops"?why not at least minimum wage of $7.50 an hour? thank you.
@cylturner31166 жыл бұрын
All servers in the USA make 2.13 an hour. Everywhere. Server minimum wage for almost 30 years. Sometimes at mom and pops rest. they might pay 2.35 2.50 2.75. I remember when it was 1.95 The ONLY reason servers receive a measly check of usually 0. maybe 3.00 to 5 is for taxes.
