A zip lock bag won't keep the water off from the firedepartment the bag will burn I guess it's best to raise it 1 or 2 cm

As long as you don’t tell the city or county or whoever you never need a permit for anything. Just don’t let them find out.

@@bgeery - Good point about the drywall cover. Gypsum, like concrete, incorporates a considerable amount of water in its crystalline structure, which outgasses when exposed to high heat. This outgassing helps keep the temperature down as long as there is water remaining in the material.
