Lil homie I started off just like you💪🏿💪🏿Between the deadheading(hours),fuel,hotels,food and amount of hours working a week it was too much.I would make 2000 to 3000 but after gas,hotels,food I’d be left with half and once I calculate the hours it took to get that I may as well had a job😡An that was with owning my truck.Still have it and willing to sell if interested(26ft liftgate). I crossed over to the semi and that money tripled
@JayT11243 жыл бұрын
I feel you on that bro,Those overhead cost definitely add up .You owner op for your semi ?
@logic98693 жыл бұрын
@@JayT1124 Yea I’m a owner op.September made 4 years for me.I remember like yesterday I caught a load from Alabama to Dallas that paid 1200.00(partial)and I said to myself “if they pay this much for a partial I wonder what they pay for a full load”so I punched in full load on the load board and when I saw those numbers I knew I was in the wrong lane😂Went from making 3k a week minus all those expenses to 1k a day,no hotel(truck has sleeper),no high food bill(truck has fridge),no far deadheading anymore.Get your cdl Lil homie and continue to do what you doing to build your bank up.

@@logic9869 what kind of truck do you have now and what did it cost and the mileage if you dont mind me asking? I have my class A and I just quit being a company driver but, im stuck between buying box or semi.
@logic98693 жыл бұрын
@@just_majestic Nothing to be stuck about homie.GO SEMI!!!!!The numbers don’t compare no matter if your local or OTR.Partial loads are pennies when being compared to full loads.I currently have a Kenworth t680 with a Cummings 550k BUT IF I WERE YOU I would go with something with a 60 series Detroit engine.Cummings parts are wayyyyyyy too high

Hey man, I really plan on getting in the box truck business. I’m going to pay for the truck straight cash.. I work for FedEx, and a lot of box truck owners always telling me they make no less than 7k a month, just from Amazon relay… What’s your take on Amazon relay? What websites would I put my box truck to get loads?
@spivey12183 жыл бұрын
Hi Jay! How do you locate truck stops to pick up loads. I obtained my freight broker license and started up my dispatch company. And is it safe for females to actually go to these truck stops?

Great video. Thank you for keeping it real. We are a carrier that does dispatching for other carriers and a lot of times new carriers will call us saying that they expect to be making 8 to 10 thousand hours a week fresh out the gate. I tell them that I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it ain’t going to happen. I try to make sure that I explain to them the realistic rates that they can expect and the reason why. When that authority is new, most brokers don’t want to work with you and the ones that do work with you try to lowball you because you are a new authority. I just try to be as transparent as possible. I’ll make sure that I told him about knowing their costs also. Because anybody can get in the business but the goal is to stay in business

If you don’t sleep in your truck hotels will kill your pockets.Uou can’t sleep in cheap rooms in areas that you know NOTHING about because that’s not safe.Safest thing to do is park at the truck stop with the rest of the truckers.Ain’t enough money involved to be spending 400+ a week on hotels.
