Thanks for this, out of all the videos I've been watching: -Yours is the only one that actually had conversations with the Alpinian residents. -The only video where someone actually got out of their car or went into a building. -The only video that gave me a good location for possible stargazing.

I was born here, but don’t remember much since I was young when we moved to Houston. I can’t wait to see it as an adult!

Lived in Houston Metropolitan most of my life; if I’m not hearing gun battles & sirens it’s hard to fall asleep.

As a Canadian motorcyclist I was lucky enough to visit Alpine during a “cowboy” poetry event - for me, it certainly untangled a stereotype. I’ve now been there three times and I’d recommend it to anyone.

@@rockk9753 My Canadian point of view, especially based on my fairly extensive travels in Mexico and everything south of the Mason-Dixon, is too many Americans don’t appreciate Mexicans for what they’ve contributed to North American culture and economic growth. If only more Mexicans liked being frozen half the year, we’d love a lot more here!

@@UncleWally3 yeah man they paint us as lazy when in reality we're some of the hardest workers out there and we'll take jobs that others don't want to do and do them good, that's why a lot of us work construction it's what we do best manual Labor, but we can do much more than manual labor much much more

@@rockk9753. I always thought of Texas as a place respecting freedom of choice. In Canada, going to the local Cannabis Store is legal and an adult decision. Anyway - stay safe!

That's so weird, I was just reading about Clairvius Narcisse yesterday. He was the infamous zombie slave whose life inspired the movie The Serpent and the Rainbow. I looked up Alpine on google street view recently after watching No Country For Old Men; there's that man with the chickens on his truck who said he was born and bred in Alpine. I was surprised at how appealing it looks, with the mountains, and the town just looked really nice. This video confirms that impression. I really want to go. I also just learned today that my great-grandfather on my dad's mother's side was from Alpine; maybe I feel so drawn to it due to some epigenetic longing or something. I'm only one state over, perhaps I can take a little vacation out there one of these days.

You should definitely check it out....very cool little town. Marfa, Texas is also very cool and very rich in history. You can go to the hotel where James Dean, Rock Hudson, and Elizabeth Taylor filmed the movie The Giant

@@michelleonthemove8932 My dad actually talked about the Marfa Lights in that same conversation when he told me about how my grandfather lived in Alpine. Maybe he and I can travel together. I haven't been to Texas since I was 11, except for a day job in Texline.
