I first fell in love with Russia bc his accent was cute (Jerry Jewel you are a legend). I soon became curious about the language and grew to love everything Russian/Slavic. I also really... *really* relate to him, because I grew up a walking paradox, which basically means you are your own obstacle. I was never fully able to align my desires with my actions, nor understand the consequences of those actions. It was really hard for me to make friends when I was younger since I acted almost the complete opposite. So the fact that Russia exists makes me so happy. :’) I just want to be his best sadistic friend. Sorry for the rant but those are my reasons lol

Mother Ukraine has a special place in my heart no matter how weird she was depicted. Nordics are a vibe in the anime, their meetings are cute. The Benelux siblings have healthy relationships, which is definitely attractive. Baltics - I can't help but empathise, don't know how to describe it otherwise. Prussia, Romano and Poland are all iconic. Moldova - an actual child, please, someone, take good care of him. Canada - really nice, a comfort character

The weird reason I love Prussia: I love blue. My favourite Crayola colour as a child was Prussian blue (no longer exsists). My grandpa told me it was named after a country. I was so excited that I checked all the atlases but could never find it. When I asked people they didn't know what Prussia was. Years later in grade 10 history we learn about WW2 and I finally found Prussia. I was so happy. 😆 Then I discovered Hetalia, I was ecstatic! 🤣 I still love Prussian blue. 💙

Ned is my fav character because... well I'm Dutch and I appreciate the fact that the character at least looks good (and that Hima got some facts right) haha. I'll forgive the creator for just basing him on Holland. Yet him being one of the scariest characters has some interesting ties to his history I didn't even find out until I attended college (apparently, specifically Holland was the most powerful area in Europe throughout the seventeenth century, and while it got attacked by several other nations almost all the time just for existing, we not just survived but managed to keep our position until the early eighteenth century).

I like Russia because both in fanon and canon hes probably the most of one of the most complex characters and a shtton of interesting historical things that happened with and to him leading to shtton of interesting fan works. That and you can ship him with 80% of the globe and it will make sense. Its awesome. Also I kinda dont get people whose ships dont involve their own country, for me its kinda weird (unless said country is heavily mis- or underrepresented obviously). That 'communist' part was fkn weird even if I have nothing against communism personally. Like. Wtf.

Well you can ship America with literally anyone and it will make perfect sense. It also makes perfect sense to not involve your own country in the ships. Sometimes you do not appreciate how your country is portrayed (like in case of poland) and sometimes your personal attitude to your country may be so intimate(or complicated) that you abstain from involving them at all. That's why I don't ship Russia with anyone.

Russia is my favorite character and its hilarious how so wrong his description doesnt fit me at all. The complete opposite actually. I live in a country that has never snowed and is summer all year. Ive never thought of myself as a communist or had any real thoughts of communism. The only thing that really fit was being abnormal was coll. And yeah hetalia kinda encouraged me to learn more languages, especially English, but also for example since I was 11-12 I’m learning Japanese and when I was 13 I stared learning Russian, I’d like to learn Spanish but honestly I want to focus on Japanese, it’s really hard to understand all readings, even though I know what certain signs mean I can’t fully know what a sentence mean if I don’t know what one sign means next to the other one. America is my one true favorite character in Hetalia. He is funny, friendly, and above all else chaotic. I know he has insecurities deep inside, too. His character is really fun and chaotic while being bright and that's what drew me to him. I'm more of an extrovert but I'm doing night shifts and this sapped me of all my energy. I wish I can go back to the days where I can explore during the weekends or after shift instead of trying my best to catch up to my sleep debt. So you are right on the extroversion reading. LOL.
