Huh. You know? I wasn’t really sure what I was expecting when it came to Francis Forever, but. I forgot it was a romantic song. It’s always been a song I really resonated with (even as an aroace). And I think I associate it with my own sudden oncoming disability. “I don’t need the world to see that I’ve been the best I can be” is a very cathartic line in that context. I feel that my entire life people have been telling me to “try harder” and I don’t even know what that means. I’ve felt so guilty my entire life, because everyone around me decided I wasn’t enough. And now times just passing. I miss being able to do things. I miss it so much. I hate that I can’t leave my guilt in the past. I hate that I can’t forget about all that I’ve lost. I know that that’s not what the song is actually about. But my point is, anyone can enjoy and/or resonate with her music, and I think that’s neat. :>
