of the mitski self-associative trend this one has the descriptions i relate to most- i suppose it's because the majority of the videos tend to focus on the diagnostic aspect (ie. "you feel this way and this is why you feel this way") without leaving much room for nuance, while this one is more ..introspective. as in it feels like a true effort was put in to empathize with the perspective itself rather than just to analyze it- the text reading as the actual thought process of and feelings emanating within one who connects to the song rather than a hypothetical.

Burning Hill is one of my top three favorites and what it says because currently in my life all my friends are sad, hate themselves, and want to die. I want them to be happy, and I work so hard to make them happy, but it never seems to work, and I try so hard and tell them I want them to be happy and they just don't care. Should I give up? Should I keep trying to make them happy? I just want things to be simple again and I can be like a little kid.

I completely understand where you’re coming from and over the pandemic I decided that if my efforts aren’t being recognized than I should give up and I did. I know is going to sound cringe but sometimes letting is in fact better than holding on. Focus on yourself my dear! Make yourself happy, it’s going to be hard when it first starts but once you get it going you’re going to be unstoppable and thank yourself doing so. I’ve started going out and doing things on my own like eating, ice skating and all that and I’m genuinely enjoy them. And similar to you I miss being a kid so so much so I’ve bought myself plushies and enjoyed my fleeing youth. Take back control of your life and live for you and not others, it’s hard but I believe in you

i love a burning hill for the exact opposite reason. most of my friends are only ever really focused on themselves and im never anyone’s go-to person to hang out with. they’re all far too invested in either themselves or their popular friends. and i give, and i try, and i give and try for them to pay even the slightest attention to me and it just always backfires. it makes me think its all my fault and i cant find any other reasons this is happening to me specifically. im just so tired of it all and i would rather for the year to speed up and end so i can actually focus purely on myself.

I always need to humiliate myself to be enough and feel enough. I'm so tired of feeling out of place in society and cultures and i don't feel like it'll change. i always need the validation of people to feel like i'm living right. As a queer woman of colour I relate to best American girl so much. I have vivid memories of when I was younger (probably 8-9) and wishing that I could be white. I've always been compared to some sort of ape or feeces most of my childhood and I was known as the 'gay kid', everyone thought i was weird. I've felt alienated my entire life. your best american girl really hit a nerve. i was in a toxic relationship and i impulsively decided to look through his following.. only to find girls who looked nothing like me. white, blue eyed, blonde. as an asian girl with black hair, small dark brown eyes, i started hating myself so much. i tried doing my makeup like them, anything to get close to them and started arguments all the time with him about them. i tried changing my clothes, i put on so much makeup even my brother said it just looked *tacky*. but since we've broken up i've gotten better and learned to better embrace who i naturally am, although i do listen to the song to cope :')
